Job Description:
SUMMARY Responsible for service, maintenance, and support of technologies in Protics and Ergonomics labs. May also deliver short training and/or orientations on the use of equipment for users of the space. In addition, a major focus of the position will be ensuring safety within the Protics and Ergonomics labs and the development and administration of teaching and training resources. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Maintain and support the day-to-day operations of the Protics and Ergonomics labs and its technologies. Act as project manager for the implementation of Protics and Ergonomics Lab technologies. Coordinate technology integration with the relevant IT departments. Ensure safe operation of the Protics and Ergonomics labs. Train users in the safe use of technologies as they are implemented in the Protics and Ergonomics labs. May require evening and weekend hours. May provide evening and weekend oversight of Protics and Ergonomics labs and would be responsible for its safe operation. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above. The qualifications listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. EDUCATION Certification in a related field is required i.e. BE/ITI and other Technical Vocational Courses Three (3) years of recent experience in hardware/software technical support considered in place of degree. EXPERIENCE Three (3) years of experience directly supporting technology in a business or education setting and in project-based technology implementation required. Preferred experience: working in an educational environment training users focusing on technologies normally associated with Protics and Ergonomics labs or fabrication facility woodworking or metalworking KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment. Knowledge of current digital fabrication tools including but not limited to 3D Printers and CNC technologies. Able to multitask with a high volume of personal interaction with students, faculty, staff, coworkers, and vendors; and Able to effectively communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel.
