Position titleQVW Technical ArchitectOverviewReporting to QVW Head of Development, we are looking for an Technical Architect to join our team and help drive the Qinecsa Vigilance Workbench (QVW) SaaS platform forward. This role bridges application engineering, cloud infrastructure, and data platforms to deliver secure, high-performance, and resilient systems aligned with business and enterprise architecture standards.ResponsibilitiesDefine end-to-end architecture for web services, APIs, and data pipelinesCreate landscape for existing platformAct as the technical authority for system design, integration patterns, and platform scalabilityEstablish architecture standards, design patterns, and best practicesReview and approve solution designs, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and security guidelinesProvide hands-on technical guidance to development and data engineering teamsRequired Qualifications and SkillsStrong attention to detailAbility to work independently and multi-task effectivelyExcellent written and oral communications skillsArchitect cloud-native solutions using AWS, Azure, or GCPEnsure high availability, disaster recovery, and fault toleranceCollaborate with DevOps and platform teams to implement scalable environmentsPartner with product owners, engineering leads, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into architectural solutionsCommunicate architectural decisions and trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiencesSupport delivery teams through design reviews and technical troubleshootingDefine API standards, versioning, authentication, authorization, and throttling strategiesEnsure service reliability, scalability, and observability (logging, monitoring, tracing)Support microservices and service-oriented architecturesIntegrate third-party and internal systems securely and efficientlyExperience creating secure multi-tier software solutions including avoidance and mitigation patterns for current and previous OWASP top-10Architect batch and streaming data pipelinesEnsure data quality, lineage, governance, and reliabilityGuide the design of data lakes, lakehouses, and data warehousesOptimize data platforms for performance, cost, and scalabilityPreferred Qualifications and SkillsExperience with the following would be considered a plus:Cloud AWS platformExperience with Linux and PostgreSQLUser experience designExperience with Agile and DevOps practicesArchitecture certifications (TOGAF, AWS/Azure/GCP Architect)Experience developing Healthcare or Life Sciences SaaS applications and/or building software for regulated environmentsEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related field from a four-year universityMinimum of 8 years of experience in software engineering or data engineeringMinimum of 3 years in an architecture or senior technical leadership roleStrong experience designing web services and APIsDeep understanding of data engineering concepts and architecturesProficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Java, Python, Scala, or similar)Experience with distributed systems and cloud-native architectures
