We are a leading company in the field of plastic injection molding.() ()About the RoleWe are excited to announce an excellent leadership opportunity within our Design & Development Department for an accomplished Head – D&D to drive innovation, engineering excellence, and product development in our manufacturing operations.ResponsibilitiesTo Develop and execute the company's design and development strategy, aligning it with business goals for growth and market leadership.New product development (NPD): Oversee the entire NPD process, including feasibility studies, material selection, prototyping, and rigorous testing.To ensure end to end Project Management, right from receiving the enquiry to final delivery to the customer.Design for manufacturability (DFM): Integrate DFM and DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) principles early in the design process to optimize product designs for efficient and cost-effective production.Tooling and mold development: Provide expert guidance on injection mold design, hot runner systems, and multi-cavity molds.Should be thorough with RFQ management and Cost Estimation.Team management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of engineers and designers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with production, sales, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless transitions from development to mass production.Quality and standards: Uphold and improve quality standards (e.g., ISO) and ensure all products and processes comply with industry regulations.Budget management: Effectively manage the department's budget and resources, ensuring projects are completed on time and within financial constraints.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s /Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or a related field. A postgraduate diploma in tooling (e.g., NTTF, IGTR etc is preferred.Required SkillsProficiency with CAD software like SolidWorks, CATIA V5, or AutoCAD.In-depth knowledge of plastic materials, properties, and manufacturing processes, including injection molding and extrusion.Strong understanding of mold design, tooling, and process flow diagrams.Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.Strategic and analytical thinking for complex problem-solving.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong project management and organizational skills.Preferred SkillsExperience in a senior or leadership position, such as Manager or Head of Engineering.
