Enterprise Semantic Architect – Retail Ontology & AI

At Simplain, we build enterprise-grade retail SaaS solutions that power vendor collaboration, item onboarding, deal management, rebates, and master data governance.Our flagship platform, StreamCollab, helps retailers and vendors eliminate data chaos and accelerate decision-making.We are building a retail enterprise ontology — a semantic backbone that allows AI agents, workflows, and analytics to operate on structured business meaning, not disconnected tables.We are looking for a Retail Enterprise Semantic Architect to lead this transformation.Job DescriptionYou will define and implement a canonical retail ontology across:Item & Product Hierarchies (Department → Category → SKU → UPC)Vendor & Commercial Models (terms, rebates, billbacks, compliance)Pricing & Promotions (TPR, scan-based trade, accruals, margin impact)Supply Chain & Inventory (ATP, on-hand, lead times)Financial Metrics (gross-to-net, margin drivers)You will:Create a governed semantic layer across StreamCollabAlign ERP, MDM, vendor portal, and analytics modelsDesign knowledge graph / semantic models within Microsoft ecosystemEnable AI agents to reason using retail business conceptsEstablish semantic contracts for AI-powered automationDefine ontology lifecycle, governance, and change managementQualifications7+ years in enterprise data architecture or ontology modelingDeep retail domain knowledge (grocery, big-box, or retail SaaS preferred)Experience in semantic modeling (RDF/OWL or equivalent)Knowledge graph implementation experienceExperience with Microsoft Azure / Fabric / semantic technologiesFamiliarity with AI integration and agent-based architecturesStrong ability to translate merchandising & finance concepts into structured modelsBonus:Experience integrating with SAP or Oracle retail systemsMDM or data governance backgroundPrior work in vendor collaboration or retail supply chain platforms
