Experience : 14+ Yrs Education : BE / BTech The Quality Head will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining robust quality systems to ensure the highest standards in conductor manufacturing. This role involves overseeing quality control, assurance, and continuous improvement processes, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Quality Management System (QMS): • Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO and other relevant standards. • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with QMS and drive improvements where necessary. Quality Control and Assurance: • Oversee the entire quality control process, from raw material inspection to finished product evaluation. • Ensure that all products meet customer specifications and industry standards. • Investigate and resolve quality issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions. Standards Compliance: • Ensure adherence to national and international standards such as ISO, IEC, and other applicable regulatory requirements. • Stay updated with industry standards and integrate them into the production process. Process Improvement: • Implement quality improvement programs such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Total Quality Management (TQM). • Identify opportunities for process optimization to reduce defects, improve efficiency, and enhance product consistency. Testing and Documentation: • Oversee the operation of in-house testing (type testing) facilities and ensure proper calibration and maintenance of testing equipment. • Maintain accurate documentation of quality inspections, test results, and compliance reports. To generate and oversee Manufacturing Quality Assurance Plant (QAP) for internal process and customer inspection Generate Quality Assurance system and process for new product development. EMPOWERING HUMANITY BY ADDRESSING THE TOUGHEST CHALLENGES OF ENERGY DELIVERY Represent organization in various National & International Forums including various Quality Circle Programs. Coordination with various National and Internation labs for type/special Testing. Customer Satisfaction: • Act as the primary point of contact for customer audits and quality- related queries. • Address customer complaints promptly by conducting thorough investigations and implementing corrective actions. • Monitor customer satisfaction metrics and drive initiatives to improve quality perception. Training and Development: • Conduct training programs for employees to enhance awareness of quality standards and practices. • Foster a culture of quality consciousness and continuous improvement across the organization. Lead and mentor the quality team, including QC leads and QA engineers & ensure compliance with safety & environmental regulations. Skills • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage internal teams and external stakeholders. • Ability to lead a team toward achieving quality excellence. KPIs • First Pass Yield (FPY) Defect and FFR (Field Failure Report) • QHSE Score • Customer complaint resolution time. • Compliance with quality standards and reduction in non-conformities. • Implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Process capability and capability index Travel : Yes Education, Experience, Certification, Exposure, Stakeholder interfaces Essential Desirable • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Metallurgy) or a related field. • Certification in Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, Six Sigma) is a plus. Certified Internal Auditor • Strong knowledge of conductor/cable manufacturing processes, materials, and quality testing methods. • Familiarity with testing standards and equipment related to conductor manufacturing. • Proficiency in root cause analysis tools like 8D, Fishbone, or FMEA, 7QC tools, etc • 14-16 years of experience in quality assurance and control, preferably in conductor, cable & OPGW manufacturing or a similar industry . • Proven track record in implementing and managing QMS in a manufacturing environment. • Proficiency in MS Office and quality management software. • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. • Commitment to maintaining high standards and promoting a culture of quality.
