PHP Engineer

Usual daily meetings. Overlap till 1 pm EST (8pm Ukr). Senior/Principal PHP Engineer Location _ Remote Responsibilities: - Optimize and deliver new features on PHP8 based CRM application - Help identify and remediate issues including refactoring complex SQL/Stored Procedures. - Work with large database schemas that would include adding and updating tables and rows using MS SQL Server - Write Unit tests and Documentation - Work in an agile environment (2 week cadence) with internal Product Managers and Designers - Coordinate with Business Operations staff, QA, Application Support, and DevOps teams to triage bugs Requirements: - 7-10 years of professional experience developing web-based & cli-based applications in PHP frameworks. - Professional experience using open-source PHP (Symfony and its components and/or API Platform, or heavy design pattern PHP framework) - Experience scaling in LAMP: Leveraging Redis, RabbitMQ, and SupervisorD - Experience leveraging APMs such as DataDog to isolate performance bottlenecks - Solid understanding of Git concepts such as branching, merging, pull requests and conflict resolution utilizing Bitbucket or Github - Comfortable on Linux, command line, SSH, SFTP, SCP Nice to have: - Experience designing fault tolerant architecture on cloud deployments - Experienced in leveraging issue tracking systems and wikis for documentation(Jira/Confluence) - Exposure to Azure/AWS/GCP PaaS - Crafting architecture diagrams in Visio or LucidChart Soft Skills Required: - Maintain problem-solving skills and a proactive work style - Strong interpersonal & communication skills - Independent contributor with a drive - Collaborative and teamwork-oriented - Accountable for work and take ownership of tasks - Strategic thinker - Manages projects and upholds quality on a deadline Exhibits judgment when it comes to prioritization and overall team management - Proven effective leadership skills
