Job Title: Senior Data EngineerExperience: 6+ YearsLocation: RemoteType: Contract Role OverviewWe are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to build, enhance, and scale a modern data platform. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who can go beyond basic ETL work and contribute to data architecture, transformation design, and platform maturity.You will work in a dynamic environment where both execution and strategic improvement of data systems are equally important. Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain end-to-end data pipelines using:ETL tools, APIs, file ingestion, Python & SQLDesign and manage Airflow workflows:DAG creation, scheduling, dependency handling, retries, failure recoveryDevelop and optimize data transformations using:dbt and SQL-based ELT approachesDesign and improve data warehouse models:Dimensional modeling, star schema, analytics-ready datasetsEnhance pipeline reliability:Logging, monitoring, alerting, error handling, runbooksBalance business requirements vs long-term scalabilityContribute to data platform maturity:Standards, deployment patterns, and infrastructure improvements Required Skills & Experience6+ years of experience in Data Engineering / Data Platform rolesStrong hands-on experience with production-grade data pipelinesAdvanced SQL skills and data transformation expertiseStrong experience with Apache Airflow (real-world usage)Experience with dbt and modern ELT workflowsHands-on experience with:APIs, file-based ingestion, and custom scripting (Python/SQL)Strong understanding of:Data Warehousing conceptsDimensional Modeling & Star SchemaAbility to work independently in an evolving environmentExperience improving:Reliability, maintainability, and observability of data systems Good to HaveExperience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)Exposure to modern data stack toolsExperience with CI/CD in data pipelinesFamiliarity with data governance and best practices
