The legal intern will help shape how an AI SaaS handles data, protects IP, and uses AI responsibly in 2026.​As an AI & Data Privacy Legal Intern, you will support the founder and product team on legal questions around personal data, intellectual property, and ethical AI use in a global HR‑tech product. You will not just research theory but turn it into practical policies, templates, and guardrails that directly influence how Infinite Resume collects, stores, and uses user data.​What you will do:Research and summarize key requirements under data protection laws relevant to our users (e.g., GDPR‑like principles, Indian data protection norms, global privacy trends) and translate them into simple product guidelines.Assist in drafting and updating internal and external documents: privacy policy, terms of use, cookie/consent language, AI‑use disclosures, and data‑processing FAQs for users.Work on IP issues: basic review of brand, content, and template IP, help identify what needs protection, and flag potential infringement risks in product features or marketing.Contribute to AI governance: help draft internal rules on acceptable AI use (for team and product), data minimization, retention, model use, and transparency for users.Support basic contract and policy review for vendors and tools (e.g., AI APIs, analytics, hosting) from a privacy, security, and IP perspective.Maintain a simple “risk & issues” log for legal/compliance topics and propose practical mitigation steps with the founding team.Who should apply:Law students (LLB/LLM) or recent graduates with a strong interest in technology law, data privacy, and intellectual property.Basic understanding of data protection concepts (consent, purpose limitation, data minimization, retention, data subject rights, DPIA, etc.) and curiosity to deepen this in the context of AI.Familiarity or interest in IP topics like copyrights, trademarks, and ownership of AI‑generated content.Comfortable reading product flows and technical descriptions, and able to convert them into clear, concise legal notes and checklists.Bonus: Exposure to AI tools for legal research, document review, or drafting, and interest in how AI and law will evolve in India and globally.What you will learn:How an AI‑driven HR‑tech startup practically applies data privacy and AI‑governance principles in product decisions.Hands‑on experience drafting and refining real policies, terms of service, and internal guidelines that users and engineers will actually rely on.Practical exposure to IP and licensing questions around templates, design assets, and AI‑assisted content in a SaaS context.How to work directly with a founder and product/engineering team, balancing legal risk with product speed and user experience.Internship details:Role: AI & Data Privacy / IP Legal Intern (Part‑time or Full‑time).Location: Remote / Hybrid (India‑friendly time zone).Duration: 3–6 months, with possibility of extension based on performance and company needs.Compensation: Stipend range in line with legal/tech internships; can be discussed based on profile, availability, and contribution.To apply, share your CV, a short note on why AI + law excites you, and one example (paper, project, blog, moot, or coursework) that shows your interest in data privacy, IP, or technology law.
