Job Title: Junior Factory Assistant ManagerJob Location: Tumkur, KarnatakaExperience: 2–4 years in manufacturing or production operationsIndustry: Clay & Terracotta Products / Building MaterialsSalary: ₹4,80,000 – ₹6,00,000 per annumAbout the RoleWe are seeking an energetic and forward-thinking Factory Assistant Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our clay tile manufacturing unit in Tumkur. The role goes beyond supervision—it demands initiative in production management, data reporting, cost analysis, process modernization, and market understanding.The ideal candidate is equally comfortable managing operations on the shop floor and engaging with customers and dealers in the field to gather insights on product trends and market expectations.The position is on-site, Monday to Saturday, and includes food and accommodation provided at the factory.Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Process Management- Supervise daily operations across production, drying, and kiln firing sections. - Ensure production targets are achieved with optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials. - Coordinate maintenance and reduce downtime through preventive measures. - Maintain accurate production logs and daily operational records.Quality Control & Process Efficiency- Conduct inspections to ensure tiles meet quality standards in size, finish, and color. - Minimize rejection and breakage through better process control and handling. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives and enforce standard operating procedures.Technology & Modernization- Research new technologies in clay processing, drying, and kiln automation. - Suggest and assist in the implementation of modern systems or machinery to improve efficiency. - Evaluate automation and digital tracking tools to modernize factory operations.Costing, Reporting & Profitability- Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports on production, consumption, and efficiency. - Track raw material, fuel, and labor costs to understand production economics. - Identify wastage, analyze cost trends, and assist management in improving profitability.Product & Market Research- Conduct market visits to understand design trends, tile finishes, and customer preferences. - Engage with customers, distributors, and retailers to collect feedback and identify new product opportunities. - Assist in new product development, from concept to prototype, based on market insights. - Monitor competitor products and industry benchmarks to guide product innovation.Workforce & Coordination- Supervise and motivate production staff; ensure safety and discipline on the factory floor. - Coordinate with dispatch, logistics, and procurement teams for seamless operations. - Maintain clear communication with the Factory Manager and management regarding goals and challenges.Desired Skills & Qualifications- Diploma or B.E. in Mechanical / Civil / Ceramic / Production Engineering (preferred). - 2–4 years of experience in manufacturing or production, preferably in clay, ceramics, or construction materials. - Strong analytical skills with an understanding of costing and process optimization. - Excellent communication skills; ability to interact confidently with vendors and customers. - Working proficiency in MS Excel / Google Sheets for reporting. - Knowledge of Kannada and English; Hindi/Tamil is an added advantage. - Proactive, detail-oriented, and curious about technology, product innovation, and market trends. - Willingness to travel to market locations when required.Compensation & Benefits- Salary: ₹4,80,000 – ₹6,00,000 per annum - Competitive salary based on experience and performance. - Food and accommodation provided on-site (Tumkur). - 6-day work week (Monday–Saturday). - Fast-track growth opportunity toward Factory Manager / Operations Head roles.
