Senior Integration Engineer

Job Title:Senior Integration Engineer Experience:5+ Years Employment Type:Contract (Short Term) Work Type:RemoteOverview We are seeking experienced Senior Integration Engineers to act as the critical “glue” between our core platform and third-party systems. The ideal candidate will design, build, and own integrations that are reliable, resilient, and easy to operate, even when external services are unstable or fail. This role requires strong system design skills, deep API integration experience, and a proactive problem-solving mindset.Key Responsibilities Design and build integrations between our platform and third-party systems such as accounting tools, payment providers, and developer tools. Handle integration failures gracefully, including timeouts, retries, fallbacks, circuit breakers, and meaningful error messages. Protect core systems from degradation caused by third-party integration issues while ensuring a clear user experience. Design robust data synchronization flows across multiple providers and company types, including conflict resolution and recovery strategies. Model database schemas that support multiple integrations of the same type under a common, scalable pattern. Define and implement consistent authentication and account-linking patterns across integrations, including multi-account and multi-tenant scenarios. Monitor integration health, implement logging and metrics, and quickly identify and resolve production issues. Document integration contracts, known failure modes, and operational runbooks for long-term maintainabilitySkills & Experience 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on API development and system integrations. Deep understanding of third-party system behaviors, including outages, rate limits, breaking changes, and partial failures. Proven experience designing robust error handling, retry mechanisms, and graceful degradation strategies. Strong experience designing schemas and data models that support multiple providers within the same domain. Solid understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms such as API keys, tokens, OAuth-based flows, and multi-account linking. Ability to translate high-level integration goals into concrete, production-ready solutions with minimal guidance. Preferred Skills Experience with event-driven or message-based integration patterns such as queues or pub/sub systems. Exposure to LLM or ChatGPT-based systems and their interaction with external tools. Prior experience building integration platforms, marketplaces, or connector frameworks. I
