Job Title:Senior Data Analyst – Finance & Accounting Location:Remote Department:Data & AnalyticsRole OverviewWe are seeking aSenior Data Analystwith a strong background inFinance and Accounting analyticsto join our Data & Analytics team. This role will partner closely with Finance, Accounting, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality insights, robust reporting, and data models that support decision-making and operational excellence.The ideal candidate has5+ years of experience , is highly proficient inSQL , and has hands-on expertise withTableau (preferred) or Power BI . You enjoy working with complex financial data, building scalable reporting, and translating business questions into clear, data-driven recommendations.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner withFinance and Accountingstakeholders to understand business questions, reporting needs, and analytical requirements.Design, build, and maintainSQL-based datasets, views, and queriesto support recurring and ad hoc analysis.Develop, enhance, and maintaindashboards and reportsin Tableau (preferred) or Power BI, ensuring they are accurate, reliable, and user-friendly.Supportmonth-end and quarter-end closeprocesses with reconciliations, variance analyses, and operational reporting as needed.Analyze financial and operational data to identifytrends, anomalies, and opportunitiesfor process improvement, cost optimization, and revenue growth.Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to improvedata models, data quality, and documentationacross Finance/Accounting domains.Translate complex findings intoclear narratives and recommendationsfor non-technical stakeholders, including presentations and written summaries.Contribute to the design and implementation ofautomation and standardizationfor recurring Finance/Accounting reporting and metrics.Ensure that reports and analyses adhere tocontrols, data governance, and audit/SOX requirementswhere applicable.Required Qualifications5+ yearsof professional experience in aData Analyst, Business Intelligence, or Analyticsrole.Strong hands-on expertise withSQL(complex joins, CTEs, window functions, performance tuning). Familiarity withdbt Cloudconcepts is a plus.Experience developing and maintainingdashboards and reportsinTableau (preferred)orPower BI .Demonstrated experience working withFinance or Accounting data(e.g., P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, GL, revenue, expenses, AR/AP, write-offs, reconciliations).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems and drive to actionable insights.Proven ability to work withnon-technical stakeholders , gather requirements, and translate them into effective data solutions.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics in simple terms.Bachelor’s degree inFinance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Computer Science , or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting aFP&A, Controllership, or Accountingteam in a high-growth or technology environment.Familiarity withcloud data warehouses(e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and modern data stacks.Experience withversion control(e.g., Git) and/orworkflow orchestrationtools is a plus.Exposure toSOX, internal controls, or auditprocesses related to financial reporting.Basic proficiency inPython or Ror advanced analytics, if needed.Personal AttributesHigh attention to detail and commitment to data quality.Comfortable operating in afast-paced, dynamicenvironment with shifting priorities.Collaborative mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.Curious, proactive, and motivated to improve processes and build scalable solutions.
