SDET Test Manager

PurposeThe SDET Manager will drive software testing against requirement specifications, use cases and user stories, as new software features are developed. Will own the development of test scripts from use cases, user stories and other sources.Work alongside other team members in undertaking testing both during development sprints and in the lead up to product releases Interacting with business analysts/product owners and other customer representatives, to assess if acceptance criteria have been met.Collaborating with development team members to set up and run automated tests, write, and maintain automated test scripts in specified tools. Supports external test partners in carrying out specialist testing activities, such as load/performance testing.Ensuring that testing is conducted on multiple supported browsers and devices.Key Areas of ResponsibilityWhile Qinecsa may, from time to time, request additional activities or deliverables, the key areas of responsibility for this role are described below:SDET ManagerOutcomes & ResponsibilitiesDeliverables & MetricsRoleSeniorManagerOwns the software testing against requirement specifications, use cases and user stories, as new software features are developedDevelopment of test scripts from use cases, user stories and other sourcesAssists the team in undertaking testing both during development sprints and in the lead up to product releasesInteracting with business analysts/product owners and other customer representatives, to assess if acceptance criteria have been metCollaborates with the other development team members to set up and run automated tests using Selenium and write and maintain automated test scripts in C# using Spec Flow and SeleniumSupporting external test partners in carrying out specialist testing activities, such as load/performance testingAccountable for the production and strategy of test management and automationManages the creation of a test automation strategy and ensure increasing testing coverageAssist with bug/defect tracking, debugging and fixing where appropriateBeing responsible for Test environment deployments to test latest/new developmentResponsible for the continued improvements of efficiency within the delivery teamsResponsible for the continued Penetration and performance testing of the systems in line with company policy and customer expectation.Mentor R&D team in QA and SDLC processes, support team member personal development goalsWith support: Expected to perform activity with support from a senior role or supervisorAutonomous: Expected to perform activity with minimal support neededAs mentor: Expected to perform activity to a degree where the individual could act as mentor to othersN/A: Not applicableQualificationIn order to perform this role, individuals must have the following qualifications, competencies and personal qualities:SDET ManagerRoleSeniorManagerIdeally a Computer Science or Engineering degree with substantial software development contentExperience writing code with Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Python, or C#3+ Years of Automation Test/SDET experienceOver 6 years of proven Automation Test/SDET experience with leadership abilities and test strategy experienceAbility work closely with Developers and Product Owners to ensure features/bug fixes are 'shippable' by sprint endInternational Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) Test Manager Advanced Level CertificationTeam Leadership experience within a testing teamUnderstanding of web technologies (such as .NET, HTML etc.)Experience of manually testing and snagging websites/web-softwareContribute to Sprint Planning, Sprint Refinement sessions, Sprint review/Retrospectives and Daily Stand-up meetings
