Sr. QA Engineer (Selenium/Playwright Automation)

Sr. QA Engineer (Selenium/Playwright Automation) Working Model: Hybrid (3 days work from office) Position Overview Celsior Technologies is seeking an experienced and dedicated Sr. QA Engineer to join our team. We're looking for a professional with a strong background in both automation (Selenium or Playwright) and manual testing. The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual contributor with over 7 years of quality assurance experience, possessing expertise in in-sprint automation, strong API knowledge, and a solid understanding of Agile methodologies. Key Responsibilities Automation Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks and test scripts using Selenium with Java or Playwright with TypeScript/JavaScript . Sprint Automation: Collaborate with development teams to identify and deliver in-sprint automation tasks within sprint timelines. API Testing: Develop and execute comprehensive API tests using industry-standard tools like Postman , RestAssured , or similar. Database Testing: Work with MongoDB to validate database integrations, queries, and operations as part of end-to-end testing. Test Planning and Execution: Analyze project requirements, create detailed test plans and test cases, and ensure thorough test coverage for all features. Collaboration: Function as a key individual contributor, while effectively collaborating with Agile teams, including developers and product owners, to achieve a shared vision of quality. Defect Management: Identify, log, and track defects to resolution using tools such as JIRA . Agile Methodologies: Actively participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies. Documentation: Maintain detailed test artifacts, including test cases, test plans, and comprehensive results documentation. Required Skills and Experience 7+ years of experience in software QA, with a proven track record in Selenium/Playwright automation using Java , JavaScript , or TypeScript . Proficiency in Java/TypeScript for developing and maintaining automation frameworks. Knowledge of AI Prompting is considered a valuable advantage. Strong understanding of both UI and API testing methodologies and tools. Hands-on experience with MongoDB for database validation. In-depth understanding of Agile methodologies and practical experience in an Agile environment. The ability to work independently as an individual contributor while aligning with team goals. Skilled in identifying and automating test cases for in-sprint tickets. Solid understanding of CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI . Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
