XTel empowers startups, enterprises, and global teams to communicate efficiently, scale effortlessly, and deliver professional customer experiences.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role located in the London Area, United Kingdom, for a Telecommunications Software Engineer.The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable telecom software solutions using modern cloud communication technologies. You will work with **Twilio services, RESTful APIs, and webhooks to build real-time voice and messaging systems.The Telecommunications Software Engineer will:Develop and integrate telecom APIs (voice, SMS, SIP, VoIP)Implement webhook-based event handling for real-time communication flowsBuild and optimize call routing, IVR systems, and automation workflowsEnsure system scalability, reliability, and security in cloud environmentsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance communication solutionsStay up to date with emerging telecom and CPaaS technologiesQualificationsStrong proficiency in Software Development and Software Engineering principlesExperience with telecommunications APIs (e.g., Twilio, VoIP, SIP)Solid understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and real-time event-driven systemsKnowledge of telecommunications protocols and cloud communication platforms (CPaaS)Familiarity with IVR systems, call routing, and voice infrastructureUnderstanding of wireless technologies and communication systemsExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar) is an advantageStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent communication and teamwork abilitiesBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field
