Marine Cable Engineer – Electrical (HV/MV Submarine Cables) for OMANLocation: OmanExperience Level: Skilled Professional (3–15 years)Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalentYour MissionFor an international engineering company operating in the Transmission & Distribution sector, we are seeking a Marine Cable Engineer – Electrical to provide technical expertise across HV/MV submarine cable systems. You will support design review, offshore installation activities, and compliance with OETC standards, ensuring quality, safety, and on-time delivery through strong stakeholder coordination and site supervision.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform electrical engineering reviews for HV/MV submarine cable systems, including design, routing, joints, and terminations.Support marine cable installation activities such as offshore cable laying, burial, landfall pull-in, and HDD interfaces.Coordinate with key stakeholders including Client (OETC), EPC contractors, marine contractors, statutory authorities, and third parties.Conduct quality control and site supervision for cable handling, jointing, termination, and route preparation.Review and approve design documents, method statements, ITPs, and QCPs, ensuring full compliance with OETC standards.Provide support during testing and commissioning activities (VLF, sheath testing, OTDR, insulation resistance, continuity tests).Monitor project progress, prepare technical reports, and resolve interface and execution issues.Support change order evaluations related to the marine cable electrical scope.Ensure strict adherence to HSE requirements and OETC safety regulations.Your QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.Strong technical knowledge of HV/MV submarine cable systems and installation methodologies.Familiarity with OETC standards and marine cable project requirements.Who You AreExperienced in design review and site supervision for submarine cable projects.Confident in stakeholder coordination and technical documentation/reporting.Knowledgeable in testing and commissioning of HV/MV cable systems.Soft SkillsStrong communication and coordination skills.Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.Comfortable working in offshore and multicultural environments.Preferred ExperiencePrevious experience on HV/MV submarine cable projects is highly desirable.
