Power System Modeling Specialist – Data Request

Pioneer Power Group, a US- based company and trusted leader in power system studies, is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Data Request & Modeling Support professional to support our Power Systems Engineering team.This role is critical to the successful execution of our power system studies and focuses on model preparation, detailed data entry, and ongoing model maintenance. The ideal candidate enjoys structured, detail-driven work and takes pride in enabling engineers to deliver high-quality, client-ready results.It also offers a long-term growth opportunity with a U.S.-based engineering firm, with exposure to complex projects, multiple industry-standard software tools, and collaboration with experienced Power Systems Engineers. This is a full-time, remote position based in India supporting U.S.-based power system study projects.Specific Responsibilities will include:Prepare SKM skeleton models to support power system studies based on customer drawings and provided documentation.Perform detailed data entry for impedance models, including utility sources, cables, transformers, and associated electrical equipment.Perform advanced data entry for LV gear and devices under engineer supervision as skills develop.Use macros developed by Pioneer Power Group to prepare detailed lists of information still required to complete engineering studies.Update SKM models as new data or revised drawings are received from customers.Support large and complex projects by completing time-intensive modeling tasks, including:Renaming and organizing componentsCleaning and standardizing model dataEnsuring consistency across project filesWork closely with Power Systems Engineers to ensure models are accurate, complete, and analysis ready.Assist with miscellaneous modeling and documentation tasks that support the timely delivery of power system studies.Targeted candidate will have:A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.1+ year of experience supporting electrical engineering, power systems, or technical modeling work.Experience with SKM Power*Tools for model creation, data entry, or system updates.Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to clearly follow instructions and collaborate with U.S.-based engineering teams.Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately manage large volumes of technical data.Comfort working on repetitive, precision-based tasks while maintaining quality and consistency.A self-starter mindset: organized, dependable, and eager to learn.Preferred qualifications:Exposure to or experience supporting power system studies (short circuit, arc flash, coordination, load flow, etc.).Strong preference for candidates with hands-on experience in multiple power system analysis platforms (SKM, EasyPower, and/or ETAP).Ability to interpret electrical one-lines, drawings, and equipment schedules.Interest in expanding technical skills as Pioneer Power Group continues to grow its software and service offerings.What We Offer: Competitive compensation aligned with experience Fully remote work arrangement with flexible hours Exposure to North American power system standards and practices Clear path for technical skill development and career growth Collaborative environment with experienced U.S.-based engineers
