Job Description: Sr Manager – Marketing & Fundraising Organization: Magic Bus India Foundation (MBIF) About Organization Magic Bus India Foundation is one of the leading NGOs in education and skilling in India. Over the past 26 years, the organisation has established a strong presence across 22 states and union territories, impacting the lives of young people from underserved communities between the ages of 12 to 25 years. Through its two distinct programmes - the Adolescent Programme and Livelihood Programme, Magic Bus equips young people with essential life and employability skills to help them move out of poverty and lead sustainable lives. The Adolescent Programme empowers adolescents (12-18 years) with life skills education and Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN). To support this, Magic Bus has established an impressive network of 30,000 schools, 343 Community Learning Centres (CLCs) and has MOU’s with 10 state governments and NITI Aayog. Notably, 52% of the participants are girls, reflecting the programme’s strong focus on gender inclusion. The Livelihood Programme prepares youth (18–25 years) for sustainable careers by imparting transferable life and employability skills. Magic Bus has set up 133 Livelihood Centres, built 1,130+ college partnerships, and established Entrepreneurship Incubation Centres to nurture aspiring entrepreneurs from underserved communities. 60% of the programme’s participants are young women, highlighting a strong emphasis on empowering women through skilling. In addition to its urban skilling initiatives, Magic Bus has also expanded into the Peri-Urban and Rural Livelihood Programme, focusing on empowering women in peri-urban and rural areas. This programme equips women with leadership and business skills, enabling them to establish and sustain enterprises and move towards financial independence. Through its sustained efforts, Magic Bus has empowered over 35 lakh adolescents and 5 lakh youth, enabling their transition from childhood to livelihood. Location: Mumbai (with travel to Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and other key cities) Reports to: Sr Director Marketing and Communication Employment Type: Full-time Role Summary : This role will build a new revenue stream by strategically engaging HNIs and UHNIs, unlocking significant funds through personalized programs and partnerships to fuel MBIF's youth empowerment initiatives. Also will involve supporting other fundraising streams (e.g., CSR, institutional donors, EVP and retail giving) from a marketing and communications (Marcomm) perspective, ensuring cohesive branding, donor stewardship, and visibility across all channels. This position requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record in high-value fundraising and Marcomm, capable of building long-term partnerships that align donor priorities with MBIF's interventions in young people empowerment and livelihoods. Key Responsibilities: HNI/UHNI Fundraising (70%): Lead the identification, cultivation, and stewardship of HNIs (net worth > ₹25 crore) and UHNIs (net worth > ₹100 crore), including business owners, CXOs, entrepreneurs, and next-gen philanthropists, to secure major gifts and anchor partnerships (e.g., ₹5–10 crore over 3–5 years). Develop and implement tailored engagement pathways, such as personalized programs (e.g., adopt-a-centre, skilling labs, legacy scholarships), tiered giving models, and co-creation sprints to match donor interests with MBIF's programmatic areas. Build regional donor anchors in key cities (Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad) by targeting city-specific HNIs and family foundations, fostering cross-sector collaborations that integrate CSR with philanthropic giving. Organize exclusive donor roundtables, field immersions, storywalks, and signature events (e.g., Play It Forward expansions) to showcase impact and facilitate direct interactions with thought leaders, policymakers, and community stakeholders. Drive international fundraising efforts, including diaspora-focused events in locations like London, New York, and Dubai, partnerships with global networks (e.g., AVPN, WINGS, Dasra), and matched-giving propositions to engage US/UK/Middle-East/South-East Asia-based donors. Track and achieve revenue targets, aiming to onboard 10+ new HNIs/UHNIs and raise ₹10–20 crore through diversified channels by March 2026, while ensuring evidence-based proposals and long-term impact data for large family foundations). Marcomm Support for Other Fundraising Streams (30%): Provide marketing and communications expertise to enhance visibility and donor engagement across all fundraising verticals, including CSR, institutional, and retail streams. Develop high-quality donor collateral such as impact decks, immersive videos, personalized proposals, and thought leadership content to strengthen MBIF's positioning as a leader in youth development, skilling, and gender empowerment. Support regional forums (e.g., Delhi Impact Circle, Bangalore HNI Forum) and learning sessions on topics like governance in philanthropy, green skilling, and youth employment to build ecosystem-level partnerships. Collaborate with the broader fundraising team to integrate Marcomm strategies, ensuring consistent messaging, donor stewardship, and cross-promotion of initiatives. Monitor and analyze engagement metrics to optimize strategies, fostering sustainability and long-term relationships across all donor segments. Required Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Social Sciences, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Minimum 10 years of professional experience, with at least 7 years in high-value fundraising (e.g., HNIs/UHNIs, family foundations, or international donors) and 3 years in marketing/communications roles within the non-profit or philanthropy sector. Proven track record of securing major gifts, building donor pipelines, and achieving revenue targets in a similar role. Experience in Marcomm, including content creation, event management, and digital storytelling, with a focus on donor-centric communications.
