You will be the first and most critical design hire, owning the gameplay vision, systems, and player experience for a proprietary 3D construction simulation platform. This role carries end-to-end responsibility—from early concept and mechanics to live gameplay, iteration, and long-term evolution.You will work directly with leadership, engineering, and art teams to define how construction is experienced, learned, and mastered through gameplay.Job DescriptionWe are building a category-defining construction simulation game, not a traditional entertainment title. This platform blends real-world construction workflows, decision-making, and constraints into deeply engaging, scalable gameplay systems.As the Founding Game Designer, you are not just designing levels—you are inventing the gameplay language of the product. You will define the core loops, progression systems, realism-vs-fun balance, and the overall player journey. Your decisions will directly influence product direction, monetization pathways, and long-term scalability across platforms and audiences.This role is for someone who thrives in zero-to-one environments, enjoys creative ownership, and wants to leave a lasting design footprint.Required Skills & Qualifications10+ years of professional experience in Game Design, with shipped titlesDeep mastery of gameplay mechanics, systems design, progression, and balancingStrong expertise in level design—flow, pacing, difficulty curves, and player psychologyExperience designing games for console and mobile platformsProven ability to design system-heavy, simulation-driven gameplayStrong collaboration skills with engineers, artists, and product stakeholdersExcellent problem-solving ability and comfort working with ambiguity and fast iterationBachelor’s degree in Game Design, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred)Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and own the core gameplay vision and design philosophyArchitect foundational game systems, mechanics, and progression loopsTranslate real-world construction processes into intuitive, engaging gameplayDesign and iterate on levels, scenarios, and challenges within a 3D environmentEstablish design documentation, frameworks, and standards for future team scalingLead playtesting, analyze player behavior, and drive continuous improvementPartner closely with engineering and art to ensure feasibility and execution qualityContribute to product roadmap, feature prioritization, and long-term strategyPreferred QualificationsExperience working on simulation, strategy, or serious gamesHands-on familiarity with Unity, Unreal Engine, or similar (designer-level)Experience taking a game from early concept to production or live releaseBackground in training simulations, edtech, or industry-focused platforms is a strong plusInterest in applying game design to real-world skill development and decision-makingJob Type & Growth PathJob Type: Full-time, Contractual / Temporary Contract Length: 6–12 monthsGrowth Path: This is a founding role with a clear trajectory to Lead Game Designer / Creative Director as the platform and team scale.
