Job Description:
A business development manager for poultry feed additives is responsible for driving growth in the poultry sector by developing and executing sales and marketing strategies for feed additives, which are supplements like enzymes, vitamins, and antimicrobials. Key duties include identifying and building relationships with new and existing customers (farmers, veterinarians, distributors), creating sales plans, meeting revenue targets, and analyzing market trends and competitor activities. Key responsibilities Sales and strategy: Develop and implement sales plans, identify new business opportunities, and achieve revenue targets. Customer relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders, including farmers, veterinarians, and consultants. Market analysis: Monitor market trends, analyze competitor activities, and leverage this information to build sales strategies. Team leadership: Potentially lead and train a team of sales representatives to achieve their targets. Customer support: Provide product demonstrations and after-sales support to ensure customer satisfaction. Contract management: Negotiate and finalize contracts with new and existing clients. Qualifications and skills Education: A bachelor's degree in agriculture, veterinary science, or a related field is often preferred, with an MBA in marketing being a plus. Experience: A minimum of 3-8 years of experience is typically required, preferably in sales of poultry feed, feed additives, or animal nutrition products. Knowledge: Strong knowledge of poultry nutrition, feed formulations, and livestock management is essential. Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills are crucial. Other: Willingness to travel frequently for client meetings and events. Proficiency in MS Office is often expected. Fluency in English and, sometimes, local languages is required.
