Japanese Translator / Interpreter (English Japanese) Location: Remote Work Mode: Full-time Experience: 1 3 Years 1. Role Overview We are looking for a Japanese Translator / Interpreter to support communication between Japanese and English-speaking teams. The role involves translation of written content, interpretation during meetings, and coordination support for Japanese staff visiting the India office. The candidate should have strong language proficiency and attention to detail. 2. Key Responsibilities Interpret and translate between Japanese and English in meetings and discussions Provide real-time interpretation support during internal and client meetings Translate emails, manuals, and business documents (Japanese English) Prepare and maintain minutes of meetings in Japanese or English Support day-to-day communication between Japanese and local teams Assist Japanese staff during visits to the India office Ensure accuracy and cultural context in all translations Handle desk-based translation tasks including official communication Coordinate with internal teams for language support requirements Maintain confidentiality of translated content and communications Support HR or admin-related activities involving translation when required 3. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in any discipline 1 3 years of experience in Japanese translation/interpretation Proficiency in Japanese and English (reading, writing, speaking) JLPT N2 certification preferred or JLPT N3 with relevant experience Basic understanding of professional communication standards 4. Technical Skills Language Proficiency: Japanese (JLPT N2 / N3) English (Fluent Written & Spoken) Translation & Interpretation: Business communication translation Meeting interpretation (consecutive/simultaneous basic level) Documentation translation (emails, manuals, reports) Tools & Systems: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Japanese typing (IME tools) Email communication tools 5. Good to Have (Optional) Experience supporting Japanese expats or onsite coordination Exposure to manufacturing / engineering / corporate environment Experience in preparing bilingual documentation Familiarity with Japanese business etiquette #LI-SD1
