Job Title: In-House Architect & Project Manager (Restaurant Development)Location: Kampala, Uganda (East Africa) Vacancies: 1 Experience Required: 7–10+ Years Employment Type: Full-Time (In-House Role) Reporting To: Operations Director / Managing DirectorSalary & Benefits PackageSalary: USD 3,000 – 4,500 per month (based on experience) Additional Benefits:Local AllowanceFully Furnished Family AccommodationLocal Transport ProvidedFree Return Air Ticket to India once every 2 years (fully paid)Job SummaryThe In-House Architect & Project Manager will lead the complete planning, design coordination, and execution of new restaurant projects and refurbishments. This role combines architectural oversight with project management responsibilities to ensure all restaurant development projects are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with brand standards, operational requirements, and local regulations.The role will act as the central coordination point between consultants, contractors, suppliers, landlords, and internal stakeholders.Key Responsibilities1. Architectural Design & Brand RolloutLead architectural planning for new restaurant openings and renovationsAdapt and implement standard restaurant design concepts across multiple sitesEnsure layouts meet operational requirements including kitchen workflow and customer circulationReview and coordinate interior design packages to ensure brand consistency and build feasibilityPrepare, review, and validate architectural drawings, layouts, and design documentation2. Project Management & DeliveryManage projects from site handover to restaurant openingDevelop and monitor project schedules, milestones, and budgetsCoordinate all consultants including interior designers, MEP, structural engineers, and kitchen consultantsSupport contractor selection and ensure scope clarity and alignmentMonitor construction progress, quality, and compliance with approved drawingsIdentify risks, delays, and cost overruns and implement corrective actions3. Consultant & Contractor CoordinationAct as the single point of contact across all design and engineering disciplinesReview and align architectural, MEP, structural, and kitchen drawingsEnsure drawings are coordinated and clash-free before executionConduct design coordination meetings and site meetingsReview shop drawings, material submissions, mockups, and technical approvals4. Stakeholder & Landlord CoordinationLiaise with landlords, mall management, authorities, and utilities providersSupport approvals, permits, inspections, and compliance documentationProvide clear project progress updates to management and investorsTranslate business and operational objectives into design and construction decisions5. Quality, Cost & Compliance ControlEnsure compliance with local building codes, health regulations, and fire safety standardsMaintain high-quality standards and enforce brand consistencyControl variation orders and manage cost impactEnsure snagging, handover completion, and defect liability follow-up6. Documentation & StandardizationDevelop and maintain standard templates and guidelines including:Restaurant layout templatesDesign guidelines and detailing librariesFit-out specifications and finish schedulesImprove scalability and efficiency of restaurant rolloutsKey DeliverablesArchitectural layouts and coordination drawingsDesign coordination reportsProject schedules and budget trackingSite progress and status reportsContractor/consultant review comments and approvalsPractical completion and handover documentationQualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Architecture (Mandatory)Registered / Licensed Architect (Preferred)7–10+ years of experience in architectural design and project deliveryStrong experience in restaurant, hospitality, retail, or F&B fit-outsProven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslySolid understanding of MEP, structural coordination, and construction sequencingSkills & CompetenciesStrong leadership and coordination skillsExcellent planning, scheduling, and time managementAbility to balance design quality with budget and practicalityStrong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholdersHigh attention to detail with strong problem-solving abilityPreferred (Nice to Have)Experience handling chain restaurant rolloutsExposure to central kitchen or commissary projectsKnowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project, and/or PrimaveraExperience working with malls, landlords, and commercial lease projectsWhy This Role is CriticalThis role supports business expansion by ensuring:Faster restaurant rolloutsConsistent brand executionReduced site errors and cost overrunsStrong coordination between design and construction
