Job PurposeThe Hostel Warden is responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning, discipline, security, and welfare of all residents in the hostel. The role aims to maintain a safe, hygienic, and supportive living environment for students at PPSU.2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Hostel Administration- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, room allotment, and hostel occupancy. - Oversee room allocation, shifting, and maintenance of hostel infrastructure. - Supervise housekeeping and ensure cleanliness in all hostel areas. - Monitor maintenance needs and report issues to the administration.B. Discipline & Safety- Implement and monitor compliance with hostel rules and regulations. - Maintain entry/exit registers and monitor visitor movement. - Ensure security of the hostel premises, including conducting regular rounds. - Address emergencies quickly—medical, disciplinary, or safety-related.C. Student Welfare- Address student grievances and ensure their well-being within the hostel. - Promote a positive and respectful living environment for students. - Coordinate with parents/guardians when required. - Facilitate medical support and ensure availability of first-aid supplies.D. Administration & Reporting- Maintain stock registers for hostel supplies, equipment, and materials. - Coordinate with mess/kitchen staff to ensure quality and timely meals. - Submit periodic reports to the supervising authorities. - Assist in audits, inspections, and hostel events.3. Skills & Competencies- Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to maintain discipline effectively and fairly. - Good organisational and record-keeping skills. - Conflict resolution and emergency-handling capabilities. - Supervisory and leadership qualities.
