Steel Detailer & Procurement Specialist

Location: Remote (India) Work Hours: EST 7 pm- 3:30 am (U.S. Eastern Standard Time)About Us: We are a custom welding and fabrication company specializing in structural, architectural, ornamental, and miscellaneous steel for commercial and residential construction. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled Steel Detailer & Procurement Specialist to support our operations. Thisrole will focus on detailing and reviewing drawings, preparing bills of materials, and managing procurement needs for our projects.Key Responsibilities Steel Detailing ● Interpret architectural and structural drawings to produce accurate shop drawings and bills of materials. ● Use detailing software (Tekla Structures, AutoCAD/Advance Steel, or similar) to model and detail steel components including stairs, railings, embeds, and structural steel. ● Generate and organize CNC files, bolt lists, BOM and fabrication-ready documentation. ● Collaborate with the project team to ensure drawings are clear, accurate, and coordinated with other trades.Procurement ● Review drawings and shop details to identify all materials, hardware, and consumables required for fabrication and installation. ● Create accurate takeoffs and prepare purchase lists for materials (steel shapes, plate, pipe/tube, fasteners, weld consumables, etc.). ● Coordinate with approved vendors to request pricing, compare quotes, and prepare purchase orders. ● Track material deliveries, lead times, and costs to ensure alignment with project budgets and schedules. ● Maintain procurement logs and communicate regularly with project managers, foremen, and shop leadership.Qualifications ● Software Proficiency: Tekla Structures or AutoCAD/Advance Steel (required). Experience with Bluebeam Revu and Excel (required). Familiarity with Revit or Tekla EPM (FabSuite) a plus. ● Strong understanding of structural and architectural steel fabrication. ● Ability to read and interpret complex architectural and structural drawings. ● Experience preparing takeoffs and bills of materials from shop drawings. ● Good communication skills in English (written and verbal). ● Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently. ● Prior experience working with U.S.-based construction or fabrication companies preferred.Key Skills ● Steel detailing and modeling ● Material takeoffs and procurement ● Vendor and supplier coordination ● Cost awareness and budgeting ● Strong attention to detail and accuracy
