This role is critical to ensuring compliance with safety regulations, minimizing workplace hazards, and fostering a culture of safety across all project sites. The Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring safety protocols, conducting regular site inspections, and providing training to ensure the well-being of all personnel. With 2 years of relevant experience, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining high safety standards, preventing accidents, and supporting project continuity. Your proactive approach and commitment to safety excellence will directly contribute to the success and sustainability of our construction operations in one of India’s key energy hubs. Responsibilities: Conduct routine safety inspections and audits across construction sites to identify and mitigate potential hazards. Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific safety plans and procedures in compliance with OSHA, local regulations, and company policies. Organize and deliver safety training sessions for workers, supervisors, and subcontractors on safe work practices and emergency response. Maintain detailed safety records, incident reports, and compliance documentation for internal and regulatory review. Investigate accidents, near-misses, and safety violations, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to integrate safety considerations into daily operations. Ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety signage across all work zones. Monitor contractor compliance with safety standards and conduct pre-qualification assessments when necessary. Stay updated on evolving safety regulations, industry best practices, and emerging technologies in construction safety. Requirements Diploma or Degree in Safety Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience as a Safety Officer in the construction industry. Proficiency in safety management systems, risk assessment, and hazard identification techniques. Strong knowledge of Indian safety regulations, including the Factories Act, Building and Other Construction Workers Act, and OSHA standards. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and training delivery skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment. Proficient in using MS Office and safety reporting software. Willingness to work on-site in Singrauli UP, including variable shifts and challenging outdoor conditions. Valid safety certification (e.g., OSHAS 18001, NEBOSH, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
