Job Description:

Role ObjectiveServe as singular point of contact (SPOC) for operations and issues pertaining to product quality, food safety and production efficiencyServe as HACCP team lead and set up the production facility to be eligible for HACCP & FSSC22000 certificationBuild a process oriented culture of ‘continuous improvement’ to ensure targets related to the following are achieved:Production capacity & productivity targetsCustomer satisfaction in product quality & deliveryFood safety, hygiene and GMPMaintenance efficacyEmployee satisfactionAreas of Responsibility ProductionEnsure purchase orders received from customers (outlets, institutions, etc.) are delivered on time following all set proceduresPlan and schedule weekly production ensuring raw materials are stocked and resource allocated efficiently (raw materials, labels, packaging available & stocked, staffing allocated, etc.)Build efficiency & productivity in production capacity through complete understanding of daily activities & demand forecasting through communication with relevant stakeholdersFollow through delegated responsibilities to supervisors and workers are carried out in a proficient mannerEnsure customer issues related to delivery, quality, complains are resolved promptlyQuality & SafetyEnsure GMP, food safety & hygiene are enforced in all areas of factoryAssist with drafting, training, implementing & enforcing Standard Operating ProceduresMaintain an up to date product specification sheet for all productsMaintain supplier specification & testing recordsActive part of HACCP team to ensure accreditation and implementation timelines are metIdentify gaps in food safety & hygiene through regular mock recalls & internal audits and set measures & controls to ensure gaps are filledAssist with presenting root cause analysis & preventive methods to management when issues related to quality, safety, hygiene & productivity ariseLiaises with external auditors to ensure activities are explained and non conformances are resolved promptly & effectivelySupervision & TrainingProvide training to staff in all areas to ensure productivity targets are achieved, food safety, GMP & hygiene is followedComplete hands on understanding of all unit operations pertaining to production & factory and train staffTestingEnsure analytical tests for raw materials and finished goods are performed for every batchMaintenaceEnsure all equipment are functioning through implementing periodic maintenance dutiesCoordinate with maintenance & service teams to promptly resolve breakdownsReportingReport daily report to the management at the end of every dayEducation & ExperienceB.Tech in Food Science & Technology or related discipline preferred3+ years of experience in a production planning, QA, QC role preferably in ice cream/dairy.Proven successful experience in food safety programs is essentialAccountable, proactive, excellent communication; team player; motivating, honest
