Production Manager (Bioreactor/ Food/ Fermentation)

About the role:We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Production Manager to lead manufacturing operations and production. This role requires deep technical expertise across fermentation and downstream processing, along with strong execution capability in managing day-to-day production operations.Responsibilities:End-to-end ownership of production operations, including fermentation, downstream processing, and plant utilitiesEnsure strict adherence to quality, safety, hygiene, and documentation standardsCoordinate closely with R&D, QA/QC, maintenance, engineering, and supply chain teamsLead production planning, shift scheduling, and manpower managementTroubleshoot process and equipment-related issues and drive continuous process optimizationMaintain batch manufacturing records, SOPs, operating logs, and audit readinessSupport commissioning, validation, and scale-up of new equipment and processesPlay a key role in Phase-2 expansion planning and future capacity scale-up initiativesGood to have: Prior 15–20 years of hands-on experience in biotech, fermentation-based, or biomanufacturing environmentsStrong, proven expertise in both fermentation and downstream processingIn-depth understanding of bioreactor operations, purification systems, utilities, and plant operationsPrior experience managing production teams in food-grade / regulated environmentsHardworking, reliable, and execution-focused with a strong sense of ownershipComfortable operating in a startup pace with evolving systems and high accountability
