Site Civil Engineer

Key Responsibilities Conduct regular site visits to monitor and inspect ongoing civil works. Verify execution of works as per approved drawings, technical specifications, and BOQ provisions. Check levels, alignments, dimensions, and setting-out works using appropriate surveying instruments. Review and verify quantities executed at site through physical measurements. Interpret BOQs and assist in quantity take-offs and technical clarifications. Identify deviations and non-conformities, and report observations to the Project Manager. Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety norms, and project specifications. Coordinate with contractors, site engineers, and project stakeholders for smooth execution. Prepare detailed site inspection reports, progress reports, and compliance documentation. Maintain proper records of site instructions, observations, and corrective actions taken.Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech). 3–4 years of relevant experience in civil construction, infrastructure, or building projects. Practical experience in site inspections, quality checks, and monitoring of ongoing works. Strong knowledge of drawings, technical specifications, and BOQ interpretation. Experience in quantity take-offs and onsite measurement verification. Ability to check levels, alignments, dimensions, and setting-out works using Auto Level/Total Station or similar instruments. Working knowledge of DSR (Delhi Schedule of Rates), State SOR, and their application. Understanding of tender documents, BOQ structures, and basic tendering processes. Familiarity with standard construction practices, IS codes, and quality control procedures. Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office, and AutoCAD. Good reporting and documentation skills. Willingness to travel for regular site visits within Meghalaya.Preferred Qualities Experience working on government or institutional infrastructure projects. Knowledge of rate analysis and cost benchmarking using DSR/SOR. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail with a proactive and accountable approach. Good coordination and communication skills for contractor interaction. Ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with the Design/PMC team.
