HydJOB SUMMARY:The Assistant Professor in Physiotherapy is responsible for supporting the academic missionof the university through teaching, research, clinical training, and service. The role requires ablend of subject expertise, teaching innovation, and student mentorship to enhance academicand clinical competencies within the physiotherapy program. The position contributes todepartmental growth, collaborative research, and community engagement, fostering a cultureof excellence and innovation in physiotherapy education.Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic and Teaching Responsibilities -- Deliver well-structured lectures, tutorials, and laboratory sessions for undergraduate andpostgraduate students in physiotherapy.- Utilize innovative and technology-enabled pedagogical strategies such as simulation-basedtraining, blended learning, flipped classrooms, and problem-based learning.- Integrate digital tools, clinical demonstrations, and evidence-based practices to enhancestudent engagement and learning outcomes.- Develop and periodically review course materials aligned with the latest UGC, NCAHP,and University guidelines.- Supervise clinical postings, case discussions, and skill assessments to strengthen clinicalreasoning and patient management competencies.- Guide undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, ensuring adherence to ethical andscientific standards.- Conduct internal assessments, examinations, and student evaluations objectively and in atimely manner.Research and Innovation -- Initiate and participate in departmental and interdisciplinary research projects.- Publish research papers, review articles, or conference presentations in peer-reviewedjournals.- Encourage students’ involvement in innovation, evidence-based practice, and community-oriented research projects.Institutional Responsibilities -- Participate actively in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and university-levelacademic committees.- Support accreditation and quality assurance processes as per institutional norms.- Contribute to co-curricular, professional development, and community outreach activitiesorganized by the institution.- Maintain professional ethics, discipline, and collegiality within the department.- Undertake additional responsibilities assigned by the Head or Dean in the interest ofinstitutional objectives.Eligibility Criteria (As per NCAHP Guidelines):Educational Qualification: Essential: Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy (MPT) from a recognized universitywith specialization in any clinical/academic area. Desirable: PhD in Physiotherapy or ongoing doctoral work (as per university norms).Experience: Minimum of 0 – 3 years of teaching/clinical experience post-MPT in a recognizedinstitution or hospital. Publications in indexed/national/international journals will be preferred.Registration: (Desirable)Must be registered with the State Council of Physiotherapy or recognized professionalbody as per NCAHP norms or MIAPKey Skills and Attributes -- In-depth theoretical and clinical knowledge in physiotherapy.- Proficiency in technology-integrated teaching and digital learning tools.- Strong research aptitude with the ability to guide student projects effectively.- Excellent communication, mentoring, and collaboration skills.- Dedication to academic integrity, teamwork, and professional development.Working Conditions -- Full-time faculty position governed by university rules and UGC/IAP norms.- Involves classroom teaching, clinical supervision, administrative duties, and participation ininstitutional events.- Expected to undertake continuous academic upskilling and contribute to the institutional vision and mission
