Remote Dispatcher (Container Transportation)

Company:Long Road Transportation (US-based) Location:Remote Job Type:Full-time / Independent Contractor Industry:Drayage Transportation Experience Required:Minimum 2 years (Open for training for those with no drayage experience)Responsibilities: Plan, organize and coordinate container removal (drayage) operations to ensure timely removal and delivery of containers. Ensure on-time delivery by optimizing routes and adhering to industry regulations and requirements (USA). Interact effectively with drivers, port services, warehouses and customers. Track container movement and update statuses in the dispatching system in real time. Optimize routes to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Resolve operational issues including delays, equipment shortages and driver inquiries. Track and manage downtime, demurrage and other charges to minimize them. Prepare accurate and timely reports on operations and performance indicators.Requirements: Preferably with practical experience in OTR, freight forwarding or as a container dispatcher in the USA, Australia or Canada. Preferably with deep knowledge of port operations, container shipping logistics and transport legislation (USA). Excellent communication and problem solving skills. English proficiency at level C1/C2. Experience with dispatching software and the Microsoft Office package. Active, self-organized team player. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including early shifts and weekends when needed.Working conditions: Full-time remote. Zoom attendance required. Monday – Friday (6:00 AM – 4:00 PM PST)
