Position Overview: The Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – Engineering Projects will be responsible for the detailed execution and monitoring of capital projects, ensuring on-time and cost-effective completion of greenfield and brownfield initiatives. The role involves hands-on coordination with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to deliver infrastructure and utilities projects as per defined quality, safety, and compliance standards. Key Responsibilities: Project Execution & Planning: • Manage end-to-end execution of assigned engineering and infrastructure projects, ensuring timely completion within approved budgets. • Prepare detailed project plans covering timelines, activity sequences, resources, and risk mitigation measures. • Track daily and weekly progress against milestones and promptly escalate deviations with corrective action plans. Procurement & Coordination: • Coordinate with procurement for timely placement of orders and follow-up on delivery schedules. • Ensure contractor work progress, manpower planning, and billing align with project timelines. • Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to ensure technical alignment and readiness. Documentation & Compliance: • Maintain project documentation, including drawings, technical data sheets, and statutory records. • Ensure readiness for internal and external audits through systematic record keeping and compliance with engineering standards. • Monitor adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements across all project activities. Reporting & Review: • Prepare detailed MIS and progress reports for senior management review. • Highlight risks, dependencies, and potential delays, recommending practical solutions. • Ensure transparent communication and accountability across all project stakeholders. Continuous Improvement: • Identify opportunities to improve project efficiency, cost optimization, and process reliability. • Support implementation of digital tools, dashboards, and standardized reporting systems for enhanced visibility. Key Requirements: • B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering. • 7–14 years of experience in capex project execution, infrastructure setup, and commissioning. • Strong knowledge of project planning tools and progress tracking dashboards. • Hands-on experience in managing vendors, contractors, and service providers. • Exposure to regulatory and EHS compliance in project environments. • Excellent communication, analytical, and documentation skills. Preferred Attributes: • Experience in greenfield or brownfield plant projects. • Proactive, detail-oriented approach with strong ownership of deliverables. • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities under tight timelines. • Structured, disciplined, and result-oriented mindset with accountability for timelines and quality.
