Founding Engineer Full-Stack (MERN + DevOps) — FinTech

ABOUT THE ROLEWe’re building a next-generation financial technology platform from the ground up. As our Founding Engineer, you will own core product architecture across backend, frontend, and DevOps. This is not “just another developer” role — you will shape the technical direction, build for scale, and help define the product vision alongside the founders.WHAT YOU’LL DO• Build, deploy, and maintain an end-to-end MERN application (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js).• Architect scalable APIs, authentication/authorization flows, and data pipelines for financial analytics.• Stand up CI/CD, staging environments, and containerized deployments (Docker/Kubernetes).• Collaborate with founders on product design, technical roadmap, and customer requirements.• Integrate securely with banking APIs, payment processors, and financial data sources.• Implement observability, monitoring, and error tracking (Grafana, Prometheus, or similar).• Establish coding standards, best practices, and documentation as the team grows.• Contribute to long-term technical vision (frameworks, cloud providers, architecture patterns).WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR — REQUIRED• 4+ years of full-stack development with strong MERN proficiency.• Deep knowledge of Node.js, Express.js, and REST/GraphQL API design.• Frontend experience with React Native (Hooks, Context API, or Redux).• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and modern CSS frameworks.• Experience managing and optimizing MongoDB or similar NoSQL databases.• Familiarity with DevOps workflows — CI/CD, Docker, and a major cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure).• Knowledge of authentication and authorization (JWT, OAuth2, SSO).• Product-minded builder who ships usable, reliable software quickly.PREFERRED• FinTech/payments experience or financial data integrations.• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi) and container orchestration experience.• Knowledge of security/compliance (SOC 2, PCI DSS).• Hands-on production monitoring/analytics setup.• Early-stage startup experience and comfort wearing multiple hats.WHY JOIN• High ownership and autonomy from day one.• Direct impact on product, architecture, and engineering culture.• Opportunity to grow into a technical leadership role.
