Position Overview We are seeking a proactive and visionary leader for the position ofHEAD– HVAC in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) Dept.The position demands a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline and bring over20+ years of extensive experienceacross project management, procurement, estimation, business development, and pre-construction activities specific to the HVAC sector.TheHEAD– HVACwill also be responsible for building and developing a talented team of professionals to drive operational excellence and achieve business objectives.Key Responsibilities: Strategy & Leadership Perspective Lead the HVAC function across all projects – residential, commercial, or industrial. Develop HVAC execution strategy in coordination with Project Planning and MEP Heads. Interface with clients, consultants, and architects for HVAC system design and approvals. Stay updated on HVAC technologies and drive innovation, energy efficiency, and green compliance. Play a key role in organizational planning, providing inputs for strategic decision-making at the business unit level. Strong understanding of HVAC project life-cycles, including design management, tendering, and business development.Pre-Construction & Design Oversight Drive pre-construction activities including design management in collaboration with consultants, tender documentation, and procurement processes. Review and validate HVAC designs, BOQs, and load calculations from consultants. Ensure optimal selection of HVAC systems (VRV/VRF, Chillers, AHUs, FCUs, etc.) based on project type. Oversee value engineering, system sizing, and duct routing for space and cost optimization.Procurement & Vendor Management Oversee procurement strategies to ensure optimal sourcing of materials and vendor management. Evaluate and finalize HVAC subcontractors and vendors. Coordinate with procurement for timely delivery of HVAC components.Cost Estimation & Budgeting Develop project estimates and budgets, review cost sheets, and provide strategic inputs for effective resource allocation. Review HVAC budgets, cost estimates, and control measures. Minimize wastage, rework, and installation delays.Execution & Quality Assurance Plan and supervise execution across sites in line with drawings, specs, and schedules. Monitor installation, testing, commissioning, and integration with BMS or fire systems. Conduct periodic audits to ensure installation quality and adherence to ISHRAE/ASHRAE, NBC, and other standards.Professional Skills Deep knowledge of HVAC system design, commissioning, and controls Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP or Carrier software Project management and multi-site coordination experience Strong vendor management and negotiation skills Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical abilityKey Performance Indicators (KPIs) Timely HVAC execution across projects Cost adherence and savings achieved Defects/downtime ratio post-commissioning Safety and compliance record Client satisfaction on thermal comfort and performanceAdditional Notes Preference for candidates with exposure to green building norms (IGBC, LEED). Experience in high-rise, commercial complexes, or industrial HVAC projects are a plus.
