CHOWGULE LAVGAN SHIPREPAIR PVT LTD FILING INFORMATION Position: HEAD – Electrical Department: Production Electrical Location: Sande Lavgan Contact: ORGANISATION RELATIONSHIPS Position reports to: HEAD – Ship Repairs Primary position objective: to lead, manage, and carry out the shipyard's electrical workshop and such activities onboard vessels undergoing dry dock and afloat repairs (and new works) to meet project, owner, class, and OEM requirements. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Key responsibilities: ensuring all necessary planning information is sought from relevant personnel. Issue inter-department requests and follow up on progress. Make a detailed evaluation of repair specifications, itemizing man-hour requirements and, where necessary, requisitioning of materials, through interdepartmental involvement, direct purchases, and specialist involvement. Prepare sketches and drawings that can assist supervisors and electricians in the interpretation and execution of the work. Prepare the material lists necessary for the execution of the work; ensure the availability of the materials from stores or by direct purchase. Carry out on-board or workshop inspections of the repairs and installations (sometimes with the supervisor, project manager, and owner representative) to monitor and record progress. Update the Project Managers and respective Heads of Departments on concerns, problem areas, delays, etc. Prepare detailed reports on all work done for purposes of preparing customer invoices and maintaining related records and files. Undertake the duties/responsibilities of the supervisor as may be required. Maintain a safe work culture and implement all yard quality standards. Develop a skill matrix and Training need identification. Coordinate training activities, including as a trainer. QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES Diploma / Degree in relevant fields or Significant experience in relevant field Must have hands on experience all aspects of ship repair electrical works. must have knowledge to read and interpret drawings, and prepare MTO/BOM and electrical schematic drawings.
