Learn more at BU / FUNCTION DESCRIPTIONThe role comes under Automotive BU where we are currently supplying products to Commercial, passenger, two wheelers and Industrial transportation. Function is to manage Quality Assurance for entire transportation solution business in India.Transportation solutions BU makes products for Connecting and Sensing Data, Power and Signal for vehicles ranging from Two wheelers to Heavy Commercial trucks. TS India operates out of 2 Manufacturing plants in Pune, Sales offices in Pune, Noida and Chennai and a Global engineering team in Bangalore. The total team strength is of 3,500 employees. There is a clear business strategy till 2025 to support the business growth. The growth is driven mainly driven from localization of Core India Specific products and new technology products.ROLE OBJECTIVETE Connectivity's Continuous Improvement Teams design and implement programs and projects to improve products, services, or processes aligned with business strategies. They coach teams, establish program performance metrics; and establish process excellence supports.RESPONSIBILITIES- The role will support activities undergoing TEOA transformations at the site as prioritized at the Critical Projects Review aligned with the plant deployment strategy and the start level target evolution and certification. - Account for Monthly reporting of TEOA KPIs - Support and mentor site based TEOA Practitioners / Kaizen Facilitators to enable them to succeed in the TEOA deployment. - Manage and control individual project teams and deployment plans at both site and functional levels. - Develop skill levels of practitioners and other site personnel in order to implement and sustain TEOA. - Monitor progress against plans and achievement of continuous improvement and progression to higher star assessment levels & Strategy deployment target - Monitor and report site level measurements and performance to star assessment levels. - Lead the value stream project teams, develop value stream maps and execute the TEOA implementation plan for specific value streams to achieve the plant level TEOA metrics and goals whilst ensuring alignment to the business unit strategy. - Create, plan, drive and follow-up of the TEOA implementation plan and ensure TEOA actions are visual to stakeholders and are driven to a sustainable closure. - Facilitate TEOA Kaizen events throughout the site. - Analyze inventory turnover, WIP levels, and material availability issues & through collaboration with supply chain team Implement Lean inventory systems: Kanban, Supermarket Pull, Two-bin, and JIT. - Provide leadership on lean thinking, lean processing, and lean production. - Train team members, management, and staff in all TEOA Foundations, TEOA and Center Of Excellence tools. - Support and follow the Digital Factory Tools implementation and usage.EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE- BE/ B.Tech (Mechanical / Production / Automotive Engineering) - Previous Experience & Deep understanding of Lean tools and methodologies. - Six Sigma Green Belt trained with Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills as well as good business acumen is essential. Able to convey complex ideas clearly and influence. - Adaptable, flexible and responsive in a rapidly-changing, process-improvement synergy-focused environment - Excellent coaching skills at all levels from the shop floor to top management - Knowledge in wiring harness, plastic injection molding, metal stamping processes will be an added advantage - Proficiency in layout planning tools (AutoCAD etc.) is a plusCRITICAL EXPERIENCE- Minimum of 8 years of hands on experience in Automotive industry - Deep understanding of Lean tools and methodologies - Atleast Green Belt Six Sigma trained with Strong analytical & Problem Solving SkillCOMPETENCIES- Technical capabilities: In-depth functional/domain knowledge - Strategic agility: Identifying relevant technology trends and opportunities and leveraging TE global technology to increase competitive position and increased value to customer - Building people capability: Training and mentoring engineers with the necessary skill set and improve organizational capability to have lean environment & culture.MOTIVATIONAL/CULTURAL FIT- Values: Integrity, Accountability, Inclusion, Innovation, Teamwork
