Technical Project Manager - Workday Compensation

Title: Technical Project Manager - Workday CompensationLocation: RemoteWe are seeking an experienced Technical/Systems Project Manager for a contractor position to drive the systems-related workstreams of a large-scale Workday compensation project. This role requires a detail-oriented technical PM focused on creating the overall technical project plan that includes testing (SIT/UAT), coordination with system integrations, and overall deployment of the changes in all systems.This position will report to the Workday Lead and will partner closely with the HR Program Manager, system owners for SIT, and two dedicated Compensation Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).What you'll be doing:• Take ownership of creating a comprehensive systems project plan and meticulously monitoring and tracking progress against that plan• Proactively identify risks with project leadership and drive the resolution of technical challenges• Ensure stakeholders and project leadership are kept informed of tasks to complete, status updates, and risks throughout the project• Oversee the development and execution of the technical workstreams of the project, including system configuration, integrations, data migration, testing, cutover plan, deployment, and post-deployment• Collaborate with the Compensation SMEs to translate functional requirements into technical specifications and actionable development tasks in the project plan• Act as the primary point of contact for all systems-related project tasks, ensuring seamless coordination between all technical teamsWhat we're looking for:• A seasoned Technical Project Manager with a solid understanding in software development life cycles (SDLC) and the implementation of large-scale technical projects that involve multiple systems• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and/or Kanban methodologies in project management software• Strong functional and technical knowledge of Workday Compensation, general IT infrastructure, and system design to effectively manage the project's scope and technical execution• Ability to allocate tasks effectively based on team skills• Proven ability to create, monitor, and track comprehensive technical project plans from initiation to deployment• Demonstrated experience in proactively identifying project risks, raising concerns to project leadership, and making quick, informed decisions to problem solve• Experience in a matrixed project environment, collaborating with functional SMEs, an overall Program Manager, and various technical teams• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical jargon for non-technical stakeholders to ensure all stakeholders are informed and aligned through every phase of the project
