Role OverviewWe are seeking a Senior SQL Developer with deep Snowflake expertise to support and enhance our cloud data platform. This role demands advanced SQL proficiency, hands-on experience with Snowflake data warehousing, and strong capability in building, optimizing, and maintaining ELT pipelines using Matillion.Core Technical ResponsibilitiesAdvanced SQL DevelopmentDesign and implement complex SQL transformations using:CTEs, subqueries, window functions, analytical functionsQuery refactoring for performance and readabilityOptimize SQL for large-volume datasets and high-concurrency workloadsPerform query performance tuning and troubleshooting in SnowflakeReview and refactor existing SQL logic to improve efficiency and maintainabilitySnowflake Data EngineeringDevelop and manage Snowflake objects, including:Schemas, tables (transient, temporary), views, materialized viewsStages, file formats, internal/external storage integrationsImplement and optimize:Snowflake virtual warehouses (size, auto-suspend/resume, cost optimization)Clustering and micro-partition awarenessApply best practices for:Data loading and unloading (COPY INTO, Snowpipe – if applicable)Secure data access using roles and privilegesMonitor and improve Snowflake query and storage costsMatillion ELT DevelopmentDesign, develop, and maintain Matillion pipelines for ELT workflowsImplement parameterized, reusable, and scalable job designsManage job dependencies, orchestration, and error handlingOptimize ELT workflows for performance and reliability in SnowflakeData Modeling & ArchitectureDesign and support dimensional and analytical data models (fact/dimension structures)Handle intermediate to advanced transformation logicEnsure data quality, consistency, and accuracy across layersCollaborate with downstream consumers (BI, reporting, analytics teams)Must-Have8+ years of hands-on SQL development with proven advanced-level capabilityStrong experience with Snowflake in production environmentsStrong experience using Matillion for ELT developmentDeep understanding of:Data warehousing conceptsELT vs ETL patternsPerformance tuning and optimizationAbility to work independently on complex tasks with minimal supervisionStrong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skillsGood-to-HaveExperience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)Exposure to CI/CD for data pipelinesExperience mentoring or reviewing code for junior developersFamiliarity with data governance, auditing, or data quality frameworksMust-Have SkillsMust Have • 8+ years of hands on SQL development with proven advanced level capability • Strong experience with Snowflake in production environments • Strong experience using Matillion for ELT development • Deep understanding of: o Data warehousing concepts o ELT vs ETL patterns o Performance tuning and optimization • Ability to work independently on complex tasks with minimal supervision • Strong debugging, problem solving, and analytical skills
