Consultant – IRSA / Software Defined Radio (SDR) Architecture

India has just released IRSA 1.0 - the country's first sovereign software architecture standard for military Software Defined Radios. This is a once-in-a-decade opportunity to be part of building India's indigenous defence communication ecosystem from the ground up.What You'll Do- Study, interpret, and translate IRSA 1.0 specification into actionable implementation roadmaps- Advise on IRSA-compliant software architecture for tactical SDR platforms- Map SCA 4.1 PIM/PSM components to IRSA's framework and identify gap areas- Evaluate and document waveform portability requirements for Army, Navy, and IAF use cases- Build internal SDR competency and contribute to product/platform strategyWho You Are- 5+ years of experience in embedded communications, defence electronics, or RF/SDR systems- Solid understanding of Software Communications Architecture (SCA 4.1) or ESSOR frameworks- Hands-on exposure to GNU Radio, USRP, or similar SDR platforms is a strong plus- Familiarity with Indian defence procurement — iDEX, DRDO DISC, Make in India, DPP- Background from DRDO, BEL, CDAC, HAL, ISRO, or a defence-focused private firm preferred- Strong technical documentation and proposal writing skillsBonus Points- Published work or patents in SDR, MANET, or tactical communications- Experience with FPGA-based signal processing (Xilinx/AMD RFSoC, Intel)- Knowledge of Electronic Warfare, SIGINT, or counter-UAV systems- Exposure to iDEX challenge submissions or DRDO technology transfer programs
