Desktop Application Support – License Server Management (Relevant OpenIT Experience)Hybrid roleRole SummaryThe Desktop Application Support License Server Management is responsible for managing the end-to-end software license lifecycle for desktop applications, ensuring compliance, cost optimization, and alignment with organizational policies. The role works closely with application support, procurement, vendors, and security teams to maintain accurate license governance across Windows and macOS environments.Key ResponsibilitiesLicense Management & ComplianceManage the complete lifecycle of desktop application licenses, including procurement, deployment, renewal, and retirement.SPLIT server, Advantages of SPLIT Server. TRIAD server location, SPLIT server locationServer details: Server type, Server configurations, HOST Names, ALIAS names, IP Address, MAC Address, Application hosting status on server(P/S/T).Ensure compliance with software license agreements, vendor contracts, and audit requirementsLicense Server Setup & Maintenance: Design, configure, and manage central license servers to enable real-time license checkouts and monitoring for floating licenses.Conduct regular license usage analysis and reconciliation to identify under-utilization or non-complianceSupport internal and external software audits and remediation activitiesApplication & Vendor CoordinationCoordinate with application packaging and desktop support teams to ensure licensed software is deployed correctlyWork with vendors and procurement teams on license renewals and true-upsMaintain vendor documentation, entitlement records, and license termsCost Optimization & ReportingIdentify opportunities for license optimization, cost reduction, and rationalizationPrepare regular license usage, compliance, and cost reports for stakeholdersProvide input into budgeting and forecasting for desktop application licensingTools & SystemsMaintain accurate license data in asset management and ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Snow, SCCM, Intune)Support integration between license management tools and endpoint management platformsEnsure data accuracy and governance across license repositoriesGovernance & ProcessDefine and enforce license management processes, standards, and controlsSupport application onboarding and offboarding from a licensing perspectiveCollaborate with security and risk teams to ensure licensing aligns with compliance and regulatory requirementsRequired Skills & Experience5+ years of experience in Software Asset Management (SAM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), or IT ProcurementStrong experience in software license management, License file Mapping, Option File Mapping for desktop applicationsKnowledge of major licensing models (per-user, per-device, subscription, concurrent, SaaS)Hands-on experience with SAM / ITAM tools (ServiceNow SAM, Snow, etc.)Understanding of Windows and macOS desktop environmentsExperience working with vendors such as Microsoft, Adobe, Autodesk, VMware, etc.Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder management skillsPreferred QualificationsITAM / SAM certifications (IAITAM, ITIL, SAM Practitioner)Experience supporting global or large enterprise environmentsFamiliarity with audit defense and compliance remediationPlease share your cv to
