IT Applications Engineer API

We are looking for a senior-level IT Applications Engineer ( Functional/Technical Specialist) with strong expertise in middleware and API development to design, build, and lead high-performance integration solutions. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with team management, working closely with architects, developers, QA teams, and cross-functional IT stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design, development, and deployment of middleware/API solutions using Java, J2EE, Spring, Quarkus, REST, SOAP, and MQAct as solution architect for integration projects and guide development best practicesLead and mentor a team of Developers and Engineers (approx. 40% management responsibility)Deploy code across QA, UAT, and Production using DevOps pipelinesPerform production debugging and monitoring using Dynatrace, Splunk, and logsDrive API integration with backend systems and third-party platformsEnsure high-quality testing, performance, and security standardsWork in Agile and DevOps environments to deliver scalable, cloud-ready solutionsCollaborate with business analysts, architects, vendors, and senior leadershipMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)8+ years of software development experience5+ years in middleware & integration development2+ years in a technical lead roleStrong experience in:Java/J2EE StackSpring or QuarkusREST / SOAP / MQJenkins or GitHub ActionsAutomation frameworksPerformance testing (JMeter or equivalent)JVM performance tuningDebugging using Splunk/DynatracePreferred SkillsService-Oriented Architecture (SOA) & Web ServicesAdobe Experience Manager (AEM)Cloud platforms: Azure / AWS / GCPDevOps, Git, Maven, SQL, Unix/LinuxAgile SDLC experienceLeadership within a matrixed enterprise environmentTechnical documentation using ConfluenceThird-party system integrations
