Job Description· Job Title: SAP Basis Lead· Location: Gurgaon , Mumbai (Nariman Point) (Onsite, Hybrid)· Budget: Open (reasonable, based on market rates and experience)Role Summary - We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis Lead with strong technical expertise in SAP system administration, integration, and cloud migration diagnostics. The role will initially focus on assessing the client’s existing SAP landscape, evaluating its readiness for cloud migration, and defining the strategy for a potential SAP-to-cloud transformation in a manufacturing domain environment.Key Responsibilities· Conduct a diagnostic assessment of the current SAP landscape, identifying technical gaps, customization, and integration points critical for potential cloud migration.· Evaluate and document SAP-to-cloud migration readiness, including architecture, dependencies, and infrastructure needs.· Analyze and document SAP customization and custom objects to assess their impact on migration and future scalability.· Oversee and support SAP integration — both within SAP modules (MM, PP, SD, etc.) and between SAP and non-SAP systems.· Demonstrate understanding of integration mechanisms such as APIs, direct interfaces, and SAP-native connectors.· Collaborate with cross-functional and client teams to recommend optimal migration paths and architecture alignment.· Manage and maintain SAP Basis configurations, system performance, and environment stability during the diagnostic phase.· Support ITGC (IT General Controls) and external audits (KPMG, Big 4s, etc.), ensuring compliance with SAP security, access, and control frameworks.· Facilitate audit responses and ensure compliance with SAP access management and control standards.· During the migration phase, act as a program management lead, ensuring alignment between technical teams, implementation partners, and business stakeholders.Required Experience & Skills· Minimum 8+ years of hands-on experience in SAP Basis administration (installation, configuration, monitoring, tuning, and performance management).· Strong understanding of SAP architecture, system landscape management, and transport management.· Proven experience in SAP Cloud Migration projects (AWS / Azure / GCP / SAP Cloud).· Ability to perform SAP system diagnostics and evaluate migration readiness from on-premise to cloud environments.· Strong understanding of SAP integration across modules (MM, PP, SD) and external systems.· Knowledge of SAP customization management, including identification and assessment of custom objects during migration planning.· Exposure to ITGC audits, SAP user access management, and working with audit teams (KPMG, Deloitte, etc.).· Familiarity with manufacturing industry SAP environments is strongly preferred..Project PhasesPhase 1 – Diagnostic:· Assess current SAP landscape, integrations, and migration readiness.· Prepare diagnostic report and recommendations for migration approach.Phase 2 – Migration & Program Management:· Oversee and manage the implementation partner.· Ensure alignment with defined architecture, compliance, and business objectives.Travel Requirement· Frequent visits to the plant site during the diagnostic phase.Post-diagnostic phase: approximately 3 days/week on-siteShare you CV at kaushalraj.choudhary@ with Subject - SAP Basis Lead
