CLIENT: Mining organization setting up base in India.Looking for Manager Buying with rich exposure in Mining equipment purchase , spares and consumables for multiple mining sites in SA.Position OverviewWe are seeking a Buyer with experience in the mining industry to manage procurement of heavy equipment, materials, spares, and services essential for coal mining operations. The role requires close collaboration with engineering and technical teams, deep market awareness, robust supplier management, and strong negotiation capabilities to ensure cost-effective, timely, and quality procurement.Key Responsibilities1. Procurement & SourcingProcure heavy mining equipment- Hydraulic excavators,Crushers, feeders, vibrating screens, -Reclaimer, components, consumables, and critical terpret technical specifications, drawings, and BOQs to ensure accurate sourcing.Prepare RFQs/RFPs, evaluate bids, and finalize procurement decisions.Ensure procurement aligns with operational timelines and budget targets.Manage end-to-end purchase cycle from requisition to delivery.2. Technical CollaborationWork closely with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to understand technical requirements.Participate in technical evaluations and vendor discussions.Ensure compliance with safety, performance, and regulatory standards.3. Supplier Evaluation & Vendor ManagementIdentify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers and OEMs.Maintain and continuously update a strong vendor database.4. Negotiation & Contract ManagementLead commercial negotiations for pricing, payment terms, warranties, and delivery schedules.Draft and manage purchase orders and contracts.
