In addition to ITW’s high-tech research and development capabilities, we enhance our customers’ competitive advantage by:a) Maintaining advanced engineering and manufacturing facilities.b) Exchanging product and processing information with sister units worldwide.c) Continually improving processes, materials and designs to ensure every product exceeds industry standards for quality and integrityITW Global Automotive in India has 2 manufacturing facilities in Pune & Chennai and caters to majority of the Auto OEM’s both national and multinational and their tier suppliers.The Opportunity:Roles & Responsibilities:Understand and Analyze product design requirement of customer for Automotive Fastener ComponentsMaking DFMEA, DVP and identifying actions to mitigate the failuresGenerating Concept Designs and evaluating the Robust Concept which adds Value to the productCreate 3D CAD models, able to do assembly simulation and calculations as per the guidelines availableMaintain the Quality of data as per ITW standards.Attends meeting with customer during design and product development phase for clarification of DVP requirements.Generating 2D drawings, 3D annotation as per ITW standards ,applying GD&T and Calculating Tolerance stackupMaintains the log of the Engineering changes and updates all the Bill Of Materials for the product designs.Gives inputs during product design and after product development phases in projects for betterment of the product performance, Value engineering and Value creation.Attends fitment trials at various customer locations to verify the design and understanding application prerequisites and provide solutions accordingly.Participate in individual development plan for personal and professional growth. KPI:Speed of Product Design and Model Creation in 3DAccuracy of the product design from manufacturing processes.Compliance to Customer design quality requirements 100%Maintaining all Designs, Drawings and documents in proper order.Making 2D drawings as per ITW standards and Customer requirements.Conceptualizing and making jigs and fixtures designs and drawings.Improvising on previous designs as part of continuous improvement process.Supports in Testing and Validation of Parts during development.Education & Experience:Diploma in Tool & Die Making /Post Diploma in Tool Design (NTTF/GTTC)/Diploma or BE Mechanical with Experience in Tool manufacturing and design of sheet metal products.Should have Min. 4-5 years of experience in the field of sheet metal stamping design, development and process.Must be from Automotive/electrical stamping industry (terminals, fasteners, multi stage components, etc.)Knowledge of CATIA V5 must with software related to designing of Sheet metal components (Ex: Synechron, Pro-E, etc.).Behavioural Skills:LeadershipCommunication skills – English(Read, write, Speak)Positive AttitudeApproachable & Resourcefulness.Good Rapport with Customer SQA.Functional Skills:Knowledge of Design Software CATIA V5/others related to Sheet metal product design and simulation.Thorough Knowledge of sheet metal stamping materials, product design, Tool Manufacturing, tool types and pre/post punching process (hardening, coating, etc.)Hands on experience and knowledge of sheet metal component testing and troubleshooting.
