Mechanical Design Engineer

Job PurposeReview and coordinate mechanical design and engineering documents prepared by the EPC contractor and Owner’s Engineer to ensure compliance with project requirements, standards, and proper mechanical–electrical interfaces.Key ResponsibilitiesReview mechanical design documents: DBD, PFDs, P&IDs, layouts, equipment datasheets and specificationsMechanical scope covering GT, HRSG, ST auxiliaries, cooling water system, fuel gas, compressed air, fire protection and HVACCoordinate mechanical interfaces with electrical systems, including GT/ST packages, electrical buildings, and auxiliariesReview mechanical and interface aspects of 225 kV switchyard, power evacuation system and transmission line foundationsEnsure compliance with project specs, international codes, and statutory requirementsReview vendor documents and respond to technical queries and deviationsCoordinate with EPC, OE, and multidisciplinary teamsSupport construction and commissioning from a design perspectiveQualifications & ExperienceB.E./B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering8–15 years’ experience in CCGT power projects (Owner / EPC / OE)Strong experience in design review and EPC coordinationKnowledge of switchyard mechanical/fire protection interfaces preferredSkillsCCGT mechanical systems knowledgeInterface coordination with electrical systemsEPC document review and vendor coordinationGood communication and stakeholder management
