Senior Software Test Engineer

Job Title: Senior QA Automation Engineer (Playwright / Cypress / Selenium)Location: PuneExperience: 3 – 6 YearsEmployment Type: Full-timeAbout the RoleWe are looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium, coupled with solid manual testing expertise and a passion for quality.This role requires a proactive, positive leader who can guide 2 junior QA associates, collaborate directly with clients, and ensure high-quality software delivery through a blend of manual and automation testing.Key Responsibilities- Lead the QA efforts for assigned projects, including planning, execution, and reporting. - Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks using Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium. - Conduct manual testing for new features, regression, and integration scenarios. - Mentor and guide junior QA associates, reviewing their test cases and automation scripts. - Own defect management, root cause analysis, and maintain high test coverage. - Participate in client meetings, communicate test results, risks, and quality metrics effectively. - Identify testing gaps and propose risk mitigation and process improvement strategies. - Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and product owners to ensure smooth, timely releases. - Maintain a positive, flexible, and energetic attitude that motivates the team and fosters collaboration.Required Skills & Experience- 3+ years of total QA experience with a strong focus on automation. - Hands-on experience with at least one major automation framework: - Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium. - Solid experience in manual testing, exploratory testing, and defect lifecycle management. - Strong programming skills in JavaScript / TypeScript / Java / Python (any one). - Experience with API testing using Postman or similar tools. - Excellent communication and client interaction skills. - Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and ability to work independently. - Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior testers. - Experience with test reporting, metrics tracking, and QA documentation.Preferred Skills- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI). - Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies. - Knowledge of test reporting tools (Allure, TestRail, etc.). - Understanding of cloud/container environments (AWS, Docker, ECS, etc.).Who You Are- A confident QA leader who can manage both hands-on testing and team coordination. - Possess a positive, flexible, and jolly attitude that creates an encouraging team environment. - A problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset. - Strong communicator who builds trust with both clients and team members.Why Join Us- Opportunity to lead and mentor a growing QA team. - Work on modern automation frameworks and diverse projects. - Collaborative, fun, and learning-focused work culture. - Clear growth path toward QA Lead / Automation Architect roles.
