Job DescriptionAs a Junior DevOps Engineer at Qualys, you will play a supporting yet impactful role in maintaining and enhancing our DevOps ecosystem. This position is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in scripting, a curiosity for automation and orchestration, and a desire to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced and technically challenging environment.You will work closely with experienced engineers, gaining exposure to a wide range of tools and practices used in real-world production environments — from orchestration platforms and CI/CD pipelines to observability and monitoring systems.Key Responsibilities- Assist in the automation of deployment pipelines and infrastructure setup using DevOps best practices. - Support orchestration processes and tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Jenkins, Ansible) to improve reliability and operational efficiency. - Collaborate on troubleshooting issues in our staging and production environments. - Participate in maintaining the health of monitoring systems such as Prometheus, ELK, ClickHouse, and OpenTelemetry (OTel). - Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps to support team knowledge sharing. - Continuously learn and stay updated with new technologies and industry trends related to DevOps and site reliability.Must-Have Skills & Knowledge- Scripting: Proficient in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Shell, Bash, or Perl) for automation and operational tasks. - Orchestration Fundamentals: Understanding of how orchestration tools work and are used to manage infrastructure and deployments. - DevOps Tools: Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI), version control systems (e.g., Git), and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker). - Monitoring Concepts: Basic understanding of how monitoring systems track and visualize system health, performance, and reliability.Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)- Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure. - Hands-on experience with Linux or Unix-based systems. - Basic knowledge of observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or OpenTelemetry). - Interest in learning about Kubernetes and large-scale production environments.Who Should Apply?This role is perfect for:- Recent graduates from Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar disciplines. - Entry-level professionals with up to 2 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or system administration roles. - Curious minds with a passion for automation, infrastructure, and building reliable systems.
