Our India-focused division, India 2 West , is expanding its on-the-ground capabilities and looking for a driven individual to join our team. The position We are currently seeking an experienced DFM / Project Engineer to join our Pune team. This is a full-time (40 hours/week), onsite position for candidates with a proven background in DFM, SolidWorks, and manufacturing. Please note: This is an in-person role based in Pune, India. No remote, no hybrid, no students. We don’t have work from home policies. Only experienced professionals will be considered. This is an urgent hire. We are prioritizing candidates who can join immediately or within 30 days or less. Candidates with 60+ day notice periods will not be considered, please don’t waste our time. Position Summary You will be responsible for managing the transition of products from design to mass production, ensuring designs are optimized for manufacturability across a wide variety of processes including injection molding, CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, die casting, and assembly. You will work closely with our industrial design and engineering teams across India, China, and Southeast Asia, and occasionally support communication with international clients and vendors. Key Responsibilities Perform detailed DFM analysis and recommend improvements for manufacturability, cost-efficiency, and scalability. Create and revise 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks, utilizing appropriate geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance stack-ups. Generate production-ready technical documentation (BOMs, engineering drawings, assembly specs, etc.). Coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers for prototyping, tooling, and production execution. Evaluate supplier feedback on design feasibility, tooling challenges, and cost breakdowns. Support factory interactions including calls, visits, and documentation updates as needed. Maintain clear revision history and version control across all technical documentation. Monitor project timelines and proactively flag risks, misalignments, or bottlenecks. Assist quality control and production teams with testing plans and failure analysis. Remain open and available for international travel across our offices, this is not guaranteed but may be requested. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent. Minimum 3 years of hands-on, post-graduation proven experience in product engineering, manufacturing, or DFM-focused roles. Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks (modeling, drafting, assemblies, GD&T). Proven knowledge of DFM principles for various processes: injection molding, CNC, die casting, sheet metal, and assembly. Experience preparing detailed production documentation and working with manufacturers or suppliers. Strong mechanical fundamentals, practical problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. Excellent organizational and communication skills, fluent English required both written and spoken. Nice to Have Familiarity with secondary CAD/visualization tools (e.g., Fusion 360, KeyShot, AutoCAD). Experience working with international clients or cross-functional remote teams. Knowledge of product compliance and testing standards (ROHS, CE, etc.). Exposure to ERP/project tracking tools. Important Application Notice We value genuine, thoughtful applications.
