About the Company / University: The National Film Award winner 'MIT-ADTU School of Film & Television' is seeking a distinguished academic professional with expertise in Screenwriting and Direction to join our esteemed faculty. About the Role: The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in narrative development, character creation, script structure, and visual storytelling. This individual will be responsible for delivering exceptional instruction across a range of foundational and advanced filmmaking courses, fostering student growth and development, and contributing to the academic and creative excellence of our institution.Responsibilities:Teaching & Curriculum Development: Design and deliver engaging, high-quality instruction in foundational and advanced filmmaking courses, including Screenwriting and Direction, to undergraduate and postgraduate students.Develop and maintain courses that promote critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and effective communication in the context of filmmaking.Stay current with industry trends and incorporate relevant industry practices, technologies, and methodologies into course curriculum.Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum that aligns with institutional goals and objectives.Evaluate and assess student learning outcomes, using data to inform instructional decisions and improve course effectiveness.Mentorship & Student Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to students in the development of their screenwriting and direction skills, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.Collaborate with students on film projects, providing constructive feedback and support to help them achieve their creative goals.Develop and maintain relationships with students, providing individualized attention and support to ensure their academic and artistic success.Contribution to Academic & Creative Environment: Contribute to the development of a vibrant academic and creative environment within the institution, through participation in departmental and institutional events, and through the mentorship and guidance of students and colleagues.Collaborate with colleagues across departments to develop and implement initiatives that foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and collaboration.Engage in scholarly and creative activities, such as research, publication, and exhibition, to maintain a high level of expertise and contribute to the institution's reputation for academic and artistic excellence.Qualifications:Master's or Doctoral degree in Film and Media, Screenwriting, Direction, or equivalent in related field.Proven teaching experience in screenwriting and direction, with a focus on narrative development, character creation, script structure, and visual storytelling.Strong understanding of film industry practices, technologies, and methodologies.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and industry professionals.Ability to design and deliver curriculum that aligns with institutional goals and objectives.Experience with curriculum development, course design, and assessment.Application Instructions: To apply, please submit a cover letter, CV, creative work and teaching philosophy statement to hr.resume@.
