About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated Education Counselor to join our team in the Mumbai and Pune regions. This is a crucial, sales-focused role that blends expert academic counselling with aggressive lead conversion and sales achievement. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, a confident relationship builder, and possess a passion for guiding students toward successful higher education pathways.Key Responsibilities: Sales Conversion Lead Management: Proactively call, qualify, and engage all potential leads (inbound and self-generated) across Mumbai and Pune for higher education programs. Appointment Setting: Diligently follow up with prospects to schedule and secure one-to-one counselling sessions (in-person, virtual, or telephonic). Consultative Sales: Conduct in-depth, personalized counselling sessions with students and parents to understand their educational background, career goals, and interests. Program Recommendation: Accurately recommend suitable higher education programs, courses, and institutions based on student profiles and company offerings. Sales Conversion: Achieve weekly and monthly sales/enrollment targets by effectively converting prospective students into confirmed admissions/sales. Objection Handling: Address and resolve student/parent queries and concerns related to courses, admissions, finance, and career outcomes professionally and persuasively. Core Responsibilities: Counseling & Follow-up 1:1 Counselling: Provide expert guidance on the higher education landscape, including application processes, eligibility criteria, documentation, and deadlines. Database Management: Maintain and update a comprehensive database (CRM) of all leads, counselling interactions, follow-up activities, and sales status. Consistent Follow-up: Implement a rigorous and structured follow-up process for all prospects until final closure. Reporting: Prepare and submit accurate weekly and monthly performance reports, sales forecasts, and funnel analyses to management. Market Knowledge: Stay updated with the latest trends in the higher education sector, competitor activities, and new program offerings. Required Qualifications & Skills Education: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; a background in Education, Marketing, or Business is a plus.Experience: Freshers can also apply, however proven experience of 0 to 6 years in a target-driven Counselling or Sales role, preferably within the Higher Education or EdTech industry is a +. Sales Acumen: Demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and proficiency in local languages (Marathi/Hindi) is an advantage. Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to build rapport, trust, and influence with students and parents. Location Mobility: Willingness to travel across Mumbai and Pune regions for counselling sessions and events, if required. Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Number of Qualified Leads Contacted per Day/Week Number of 1:1 Counselling Sessions Conducted per Week Monthly and Weekly Sales/Enrollment Targets Achieved Lead-to-Conversion Rate Accuracy of CRM Data Maintenance
