Job Advertisement: Visiting Faculty in Economics FLAME University, Pune (Maharashtra, India), the pioneer of liberal education in India, invites applications for Visiting Faculty positions in Economics to strengthen the department’s undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. These are contractual appointments, renewable at the end of every semester/term of the contract based on performance and institutional requirements. We are seeking candidates with expertise in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Mathematics for Economics, International Economics, Public Economics, Statistics, Econometrics, and Data Science to contribute to both the undergraduate and M.Sc. Economics programs at introductory, intermediate, and advanced levels. While we welcome applicants from any field of economics, preference will be given to candidates with strong training in both theoretical and applied economics who can contribute to the department’s growing strengths in teaching and applied research. Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will be expected to: 1. Deliver high-quality teaching in one or more of the listed areas across undergraduate and postgraduate programs. 2. Prepare and update course outlines, teaching materials, and student assessments in line with departmental requirements. 3. Adopt innovative, inclusive, and student-centered teaching practices. 4. Provide academic mentoring and guidance to students. 5. Contribute to curriculum development and departmental academic activities. Qualifications • Minimum Qualification: A Master’s degree in Economics with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade). • NET/SET qualification in Economics conducted by UGC/CSIR, OR exemption from NET in accordance with UGC regulations (i.e., Ph.D. awarded in compliance with UGC norms). • A Ph.D. in Economics (completed or nearing completion) is strongly preferred. • Evidence of prior teaching experience at the undergraduate or postgraduate level. • Demonstrated commitment to effective pedagogy and student engagement.
