Job DescriptionJob Title: Assistant Manager - Learning & Development Department: Human Resources Experience Required: 8–10 YearsJob SummaryThe Assistant Manager – Learning & Development is responsible for designing, implementing, and driving effective learning strategies and programs aligned with organizational objectives. This role requires a strategic and hands-on professional with deep expertise in learning frameworks, instructional design, and capability development to enhance employee performance and foster a culture of continuous learning.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute a comprehensive Learning & Development (L&D) strategy aligned with business goals and workforce needs.Conduct training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and capability requirements across departments, with a strong focus on the sales function.Independently design and conduct training programs and workshops, including classroom, virtual, and on-field training sessions.Coordinate with external trainers, facilitators, and vendors as required, ensuring program quality and adherence to allocated budgets.Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs using feedback, assessments, and performance metrics, and implement improvements where necessary.Collaborate with business leaders to support sales capability building, leadership development, and talent development initiatives.Travel across India as required to deliver training programs for the sales team and other business functions.Manage multiple L&D projects simultaneously while ensuring quality, timelines, and outcomes.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in human resources, Education, Psychology, or a related field.Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications in L&D / OD preferred.8–10 years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, with a strong blend of strategy and hands-on delivery.Proven experience in facilitating training programs independently and managing external training partners.Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design models, and learning evaluation frameworks.Key CompetenciesStrategic Thinking & Business AcumenTraining Facilitation & Presentation SkillsProject & Vendor ManagementAnalytical & Problem-Solving SkillsCollaboration & Stakeholder ManagementAdaptability & Willingness to TravelPerformance ExpectationsDeliver measurable improvements in sales and employee performance through effective learning interventions.Maintain high participant satisfaction scores across internal and external training programs.Ensure optimal utilization of training budgets while maintaining quality outcomes.Successfully manage and deliver multiple learning projects within agreed timelines.Preferred Candidate ProfileHands-on L&D professional with strong facilitation skillsExperience in sales training and pan-India rollout programsComfortable working with senior stakeholders and external partners.Willingness to travel extensively for training delivery
